dennismcc
This is really sad, all that research, design and investment for a 1/35 kit that most large scale builders will not touch, if they had plumped for 1/32 scale they could have sold as many as they want, Shame but it saves me money ! I would think Tamiya and several other makers might disagree on this one... The Japanese manufacturers will always do their best to keep their local market happy. I would theorize that the "Rest of the World" would come a VERY distant second, in their opinion. Chris.
Confusionreigns178
I seem to remember reading that ICM were planning to produce their new AH-1G kits in both 1/32nd and 1/35th scales. For very obvious reasons, that plan might well be on hold at the moment. Chris.

According to a couple of guys who work in local hobby shops, the 1/35 aircraft kits are very hard to move off the shelves and out the door. It looks good though Matty LSP_K2

It looks good though Matty Another reason explaining they do not seem to sell very well is the proximity with the 1/32 Trumpeter releases. I do not see many people having the Trumpeter kits buying the Border ones. This may explain why they are now testing the waters with a totally new topic. I'm afraid they will essentially got a lot of Flak... LSP_Matt
LSP_Mike
Agreed. They might have released a 35th P 51B, P 47 or Spitty Mk Vb.

Gazzas
There are plenty of Stukas and 109's in ppl's stashes to keep them from buying the Border 1/35's. Those two kits are pretty expensive here in AUS. But, I only have one IJA plane and no IJN planes. I could see myself buying one, one day. And if they came out with an A6M3 with square wing tips... in a heartbeat. Do ya want the plane or don't ya? Apologies to you scale purists. TankBuster, LSP_Matt and MikeMaben
Archimedes
My view: If scale unification is really where we want to go and we want the same scale vehicles next to aircraft....will SOMEBODY please start making 1/32 vehicles that are appropriate; refuelers, trucks and whatnot. Making 1:35 aircraft just feels wrong somehow. Iain, Gazzas, D Bellis and 2 others

coogrfan
So after years of nothin', we're gonna have not one but two large scale Kates? Sounds good to me. EvilCarrot, Iain, adameliclem and 1 other
adameliclem
A preview article about this kit just posted at The Modeling News. Many more CAD images, and they look impressive. Folding wings, removable cowl, wheel’s-up option and choice in ordnance, torpedo and armor piercing-bomb. Thunnus
Just curious… if someone were to build one of Border’s 1/35 scale aircraft, could it be posted on the Works In Progress board or would it go on the Non-LSP forum?
