My hands haven't had the necessary strength to do the work required on the landing gear sets(presently changing for the better), however they have not been idle. Below are some quickly edited shots of the Tamiya P-47 recently completed. Not perfect, but it's an OK build.

My understanding is there was so much OD 41 in the system that the use of ANA 613 was rarely seen in use before 1945. OD 41 tended to be a more greenish shade than the later brownish ANA 613, accounting for variables in manufacture of paints, of course.

My understanding is that in the USAAF it had a lot to do with better treatment when captured by enemy forces, as there was a higher probability of capture for air crews. Officers were accorded better treatment than Staff NCOs, and in turn, Staff NCOs were treated better than lower NCOs and non-NCO personnel. Enlisted aircrew were always Staff NCOs for that reason. At least that's what I've read.
