Chek Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 Thanks for all the detail notes and responses everyone. I think I'll let this opportunity pass for now and await the potential new release, should it ever materialise. It's not as if I don't have four Hurricanes, Tempests Mk. II and V ahead in the queue, but obviously a pair of Typhoons will be obilgatory. I'll skip the Tornado unless something emerges to make it mandatory.
adameliclem Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Good news: Special Hobby kindly replied to my email, and their 1/32nd Typhoon project has been delayed but they still plan to do it. Updates will be posted on Special Hobby’s Facebook page when they’re ready. Cheers, Adam MikeMaben, Landrotten Highlander, Granger Davis and 6 others 7 2
Suresh Nathan Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Hi. Just saw this. Detailed a Revell Typhoon with a Special Hobby Engine here. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=3817 Troy Molitor, MikeMaben, Martinnfb and 3 others 6
oyoy5 Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Special Hobby told me they would be doing a 1/48 injection Dornier 24-T……..in freaking 2019 so my trust meter isn’t good for Special Hobby.
fastterry Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 The pilot is all dressed up ready to dance and he realises that something has eaten the engine and those bloody erks have left the ammo covers undone. Nice model but sometimes dioramas can be tricky. Like having a jet with a full loadout of missiles bombs etc and having the engines out for servicing. Dpgsbody55 Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Interesting looking build, and nicely detailed and painted. But I'm wondering; if the engine's out, what is the prop held on with??? Cheers, Michael LSP_Ron, Troy Molitor, KiwiZac and 6 others 3 5 1

Cheers, Michael And as @fastterry says above, there's a pilot climbing into it in full flying kit, did he not spot the missing engine or the unclosed panels on his walk-round checks? Great modelling skills on display there, but I for one don't understand why we as modellers obsess (be honest, we do, me included) over tiny technical details, then ignore the realities of how aircraft were operated irl. Couldn’t agree more….plus no engine but RPs loaded? CRAZY IVAN5 1
Alain Gadbois Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 That engine dolly is actually for a V-1. Definitely something fishy going on here!
Tony T Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 "Well, that start-up didn't go to plan. Back to the Mess for me then" "Could kill a bottle of Guinness right now" Tony Rick Griewski, CRAZY IVAN5 and coogrfan 3
MikeMaben Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Don't forget you guys, these are toy airplanes. Troy Molitor and thierry laurent 2
Erwin Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I would still buy one and build it OOB. Only for 10 to 15 Euro's. Alain Gadbois and MikeC 2

LSP_Mike Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Regardless, this build shows what can be done with the original kit Brian Cauchi's P40 comes to mind as well. Suresh Nathan and MikeC 1 1
