Hello Gents,
Finally I decided to start this project, totally inspired by Master Airscale Peter,to who I thank for sharing his amazing work which makes it look easier than it is, I jumped in this new field with my total ignorance and many things to learn on the process
So I will be building a 109, a F-4 or a G2, still have not decided but since both models share many similarities I have some time still to decide but will be representing a JG 5 scheme for sure, I took Jumpei fantastic drawings and scale them up, and cut the 2mm acrylic and ended up with the main outline, first step accomplished, next is adding the former sections, cheers
Comparison with a 1/32 model
now needs some sanding and refine curves
cheers

Ok, Antonio, I have to say, I absolutely love the weathering you have achieved. The paint chipping at the wing roots is incredible! How did you do it?
Secondly, I love the invasion stripe effect you achieved with the faded/ oversprayed look. Again, how did you achieve it?
You, sir, are killing it!
Thor
thank you so much for your words Thor
for the chipping I mainly apply metal color with a fine sponge and also with a prisma silver pencil, nothing more fancy
for the invasion stripes I only applied some black to the base color make it darker, then the weathering and washes will unify the effect, hope it helps, glad you like it!
cheers

Looking good, very nice work on the weathering. On a side note, always wondered why so many early D's had the canopy unpainted?
thanks John, yes interesting fact but no idea why, maybe stock new parts came unpainted cheers
some progress, props blades and exhausts stains on the underside, getting in last phase of the build if something catastrophic happens, cheers

Excellent work as usual, Antonio! I have never fitted the canopy after main painting. The windscreen joint is perfecto-mundo!
thanks gazzas, I'm a mess in building my models with coherent order cheers
some paint on the rear canopy also
cheers

more work done, some different lights, had to use a wood stick to widen the windscreen otherwise a noticeable gap would show, it worked and now ready to paint, also filled the mirrors inserts which are not in the right position represented by Trumpeter, the sliding rear canopy will be a nightmare to mask, not my favourite task in modelling
cheers

Wow, that's just amazing work Antonio. How did you replicate the scratch paint on the wings? Very realistic.
Thanks John,
I use for that effect, just small cut sponges with small amounts of aluminium paint, also a metallic pencil from the prismacolor brand, that's it
cheers mate!

your build is becoming a piece of art. I really love the chipping at the wing root and ammo bays.
The oversprayed bands are very convincing as well.
Keep up the terrific work.

Thanks bro, this build has many credit to your amazing masks designs skills, a game changer cheers
