Borsos
The Border Models Kate in 1:35 scale is on preorder here in Europe for 74€. I am really curious how much the HPH Kate in 1:32 scale will cost… Martinnfb and Fanes

scvrobeson
Ouch, that's a big price, but it is in-line with the other HpH kits. Going resin with plastic details is certainly an odd way to do things, but hopefully it allows them to be successful with it Matt Bill M. and Martinnfb
Bill M.
Well, with this once all-plastic Infinity kit now being both resin and plastic and released by HPH, I wonder if they will be including the resin and etched parts in the kit that Infinity offered for their all-plastic kits, at an additional price? If those sorts of detail parts are included, it will be easier to justify the higher price. But regardless, I will be buying one of these kits (in 1/32 scale, I might add). It is a kit I have long wanted.
Pup7309
Interesting conundrum for scale purists. This or the Border 1/35 for much less Borsos and Martinnfb
quang
It’s still too early to say anything about the kit but… main components in resin with smaller parts in styrene ? Looks like the modelling world has suddenly turned upside down. Even more disturbing is the proposed color schemes. HPH is offering the obligatory Fuchida’s machine, the red-tailed AI-301 which led the ‘Hawaiian operation’ strike force on December 8, 1941. The colour profile shows it equipped with a torpedo although it’s a well-documented fact that during the raid, AI-301 was part of the high-altitude group of Kates carrying type 99 bombs FOR INFO ONLY Not to say that AI-301 never carried torpedoes in her lifetime, but if you want to represent the famous plane on that fateful day, you’d have to swap the torpedo for a bomb. Having said that, there are great days coming for Kate lovers everywhere Cheers, Quang scvrobeson, Fanes, Paul in Napier and 3 others 4
LSP_Kevin
My understanding is that the fuselage of the Kate will be injection-moulded, as those parts had already been tooled. Kev coogrfan and Martinnfb
dennismcc
Well at £215 the HpH kit is well outside my budget so for £72 I have defected and ordered the Border Kate. I want a 1/32 Kate but not at that price, and the Border aircraft kits have been getting good reviews. Borsos
Oh, if my math hasn’t let me down, one HPH Kate will be about 2 1/2 Border Kates… I am curious now, how the HPH will get together compared to the Border kit.
