I realize I won't be able to find enough information about this specific A20. But it looks like I'll eventually build it somehow. I think I can use the "P" code on the tail, slightly change the serial number in the details Martin gave, and be done. Just don't blame me when I do this.

Hi,

When I bought this book by Squadron years ago, I really liked the A-20 Havoc on the cover and planned to do it one day.

Nowadays, the new HKM kit is flirting with me. However, despite my research, I could not find another picture of this Havoc. Therefore, the sqd code letter on the Rudder and the serial on the tail are unknown. There isn't even any clue.
In my research, I saw that this A-20 belonged to the 90th BS of the 3rd BG in New Guinea, or it most likely belonged to it. But even this is insufficient for the missing details.
I can somehow make Shark mouth with a mask, but the code number issue is a mystery. It seems like an option to drive rivet counters crazy by using tail codes as J, P or X.
I would like to know your opinions on this subject

I'm still not sure if this will actually look like a P-51B when it's finished. The upper rear fuselage still looks a little thick. I don't want to list other problems. If I do I would be sabotaging myself

Today's update

When I started this project, I decided to build it with flaps down.

Trumpeter's flaps are not suitable for this. That's why I decided to use flap parts from Tamiya.

I would like to think that we have come to the end of surgical interventions.

The location of the wingtip lights should be corrected. They should be located on the upper and lower surfaces of the wing.

Stencils are from EagleCals set and the swastikas from Xtradecal set.

Next step is airbrushing a coat of X22  ( while I am sleeping as Mike said )

The Balkenkreuzs on the wings are from the kit decals. The ones on the fuselage are from my spare box.

It looks as if the plane has the underwing balkenkreuz on the top surface too.  If you have any spare decals, you could choose one of them if it's more suitable.  Perhaps do a bit more research first?  Given this is an unusual camo, it makes sense to take your time and get it right if you can.
