Neat work. This wil look exceptional when all buttoned up. Great job.
Seeing the quilting on the aft firewall reminded me of references I saw way back when that seemed to show the stitching (the diamond pattern) being lighter than the padding. Is that your experience of jets you've worked on?

Good to see the revised version.
The one with the large indentations looked weird and confusing.
The finalised version looks great.

I look forward to seeing how this one builds up.
There have already been a few builds of the Kotare Spitfire on the site and no two are the same.
Watching everyone's individual approach to these models is fascinating and furnishes those of us who are lucky enough to have this model in the stash with a plethora of alternative techniques and ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and enjoy the adventure.
Cheers

Truly magnificent.
I would love to see monochrome versions of those natural light photos because I suspect they would look real.
The exhausts are sublime. Superb observation of real colouring. I admire your attention to detail and accuracy on the exhausts. Painting them the way they actually look. Brilliant.
The finish is beautiful. Your painting and decalling is peerless.
All in all this is an absolute pleasure to see.
Thank you for taking the time to share your photos with us.
Cheers.

still haven't taken proper "Ready for Inspection" photos.
Surely that needs to be your next job?
Thanks for the list of mods and corrections.
That's a pretty looking Mustang.
Good job.

I saw this on their 2024 releases show.
It brings back happy memories as I my Dad "helped" me build it as a kid.
Not knowing the first thing about Mustangs he interpretted the colour of the airframe from the instructions as white
It certainly set the blue of the nose and yellow of the rudder off nicely though.

Is that Berkut to the same scale?
It dwarfs the F-22

Such a lovely little jet.
Coincidentally I've just watched an aviation video on YouTube that showed a pair of colourful Red Bull Alpha Jets.
They would make an eye catching model.

Thanks for the link Iain and for the attached images Simon.
Regardless of our respective thoughts about which kit might reflect an accurate Spitfire I hope most will agree that Arie's model represents the benchmark for how a Spitfire model ought to look.
What a beauty!
I will be extremely happy if I can get my current build looking a fraction as good as that.

I'd be very happy to see more images of the Hasegawa model shown earlier to illustrate a point. Did you build that Simon?

50 minutes ago, F`s are my favs said:
Either the seat should go up a bit, or the pilot figure should go down a bit. But as they are molded as a single piece - when I move the seat up - the helmet of the pilot sticks too much and the canopy can't close. The misalignment is 3-4 mm., which is quite noticeable.
Yes, I understand.
I was thinking more of the full sized item from your reference.
The height of the real seat may be adjusted to a lower perspective than the one modelled for the 1/32nd scale version. Perhaps the real pilot was short and the scale pilot is tall?
Could that be an explanation and allow you to leave the part untouched?

Neat work Jay.
Roughly how large are these glazing components?
It strikes me that there are no complex or particularly large parts so far?
Could you use acetate sheet?
I've had success with sheets out of food wrapping.
A 3D printed mold should be relatively simple to produce for the curved upper portion of the windshield. Plunge molding that shape ought not be too challenging?
Looking forward to more soon.
Happy New Year

Could the misalignment be attributed to height adjustment of the seat?

Can't help with the decals but that's a smart looking scheme.

Lovely stuff Anthony.
Very much admire your attention to detail and accuracy with the dents and intentionally mismatched cammo demarcation lines between elements.
Uber realistic and exactly my cup of tea.
It demonstrates courage. Keep it up

That's a fine selection of aftermarket parts to enhance your model.
I'm looking forward to seeing you integrate everything, in particular how the Reskit exhausts look.
Building the Flightpath versions was an intense labour of love!
I do like that you've picked out panels on the consoles in different shades of grey. That certainly gives depth and realism to the components. Good job.
Eager to see more.
