Woody V
I was going to do this as a poll, but I can't include a photo so you'll know what I'm referring to so let's try it like this. Do you think the faded fabric on the wings is too light or okay as it is? I want honest opinions, please. monthebiff
I would say leave as is, looks very good to me. Regards. Andy Martinnfb, Woody V, Oldbaldguy and 1 other
HB252
For me, its a little light. Woody V, LSP_K2, Martinnfb and 1 other
Landrotten Highlander
difficult choice for me. I guess you can make it work if you give the same level of fading on the national markings. If that is not possible, then slightly darker would the direction I would go. Woody V, monthebiff, BiggTim and 1 other
Maxim61
Looks good to me but as someone else said, you'll need to fade the markings as well. Martinnfb, Uncarina and BiggTim
John Stambaugh
Maybe a little too light but the wash and varnish can go a long way towards tying the colors together. BiggTim and Martinnfb
Steve Eagle
Looks very good. To further sunbleach the entire build, I have lightly misted thinned dull coat with a few drops of white in it. Do it in several different coats to assess effect. Martinnfb and BiggTim

Just wondering to myself why the national insignia would fade on fabric more than it would on metal, if that’s being opined? The prep coats are different on fabric from what they would be on sheet metal before the final color goes on which accounts for the differences down the road, but this doesn’t necessarily mean something like a very dark insignia laid down on top of everything else would look or act any differently just because it was shot on a fabric surface. Seems like it fade evenly. Woody V, BiggTim and Martinnfb
DrewH
Question is - does it look too light to you Woody? We have a saying out here on the west coast when it comes to weathering - less is more. your build looks great, but you are the one who needs to be happy with the end result looking at it in your display case two years from now. John1
Got any reference pictures of similar aircraft so we can compare? To me it looks a bit too lightend. FWIW, I think you went a bit heavy on the dark panel lines. Aside from that, your build is coming along nicely. JayW
When I did my contrasting between metal and fabric on my 1/18 effort, I looked at a whole lot of old pictures. Oddly, I saw everything from fabric darker than metal to fabric lighter than metal to fabric looking same as metal. So I just painted the top coat it all the same. Turned out that my alum skinned panels ended up with an unintended different hue anyway, which was OK with me. I think you ought to leave it alone and weather the devil out of it with stains and dirt. Woody V, Martinnfb, BiggTim and 1 other
Martinnfb
I don't think it's the fabric that creates the difference. Its the wear caused by maintenance crew. cbk57, ivanmoe, Gazzas and 5 others
Sturmbock
If it would be my model, I would leave it this way. I don't know how intensive you will go on with additionel weathering but this will darken this anyway. But I guess you are aware of this! By the way, very impressive work! Cherrs! I had planned on fading the national insignias from the beginning. My number one goal is continuity in the weathering.
