Kitty Hawk molds?

Would be nice to have the KH kits back. I liked the Harvard/Texan very much. A real fun build, some minor alignment issues at the engine/cowling, but nothing to write home about. Have the F-5 in the stash, earmarked for the upcoming Aces GB. Looks buildable with some AM goodies (resin intake duct, 3D cockpit parts). Missed the Kingfisher...

If I ever get my bench and workroom set up and complete, this is on my shortlist for building.  I picked up a couple.  You example is will be my first based on aircraft at Malden AFB, Missouri in 1950.  My dad was a civilian contract Anderson Air Activities Instructor Pilot for a bit over the winter.  Once spring arrived, he went back to crop dusting.  Seems a great many of the IPs there were cropdusters according to folks who trained there.

I built two T-6s as RAF Harvards. Yes there were the known issues (silly cowling arrangement, separate poorly fitting turtle deck, undercarriage width too narrow, wheels too thin, prop too long) but I like to think of myself as a modeller…..so I fix it!

I’d like another T-6 to try to convert to a Harvard Mk 1 but it seems little chance at the moment.

Information published today on Armorama:

"Apart from their own designs, Zimi Model will also be taking over for the production and release of products previously offered by KittyHawk Models and Hong Model"

The first re-releases of flying objects will be the Little bird and Blackhawk/Seahawk series.

Good question, I think Hong KONG Models (HKM) are still going in their own right, or at least they were last time I looked.

Hong Models made a 1/35 ZSU-23 kit many years ago, which is one of the kits Zimi has for (re)release.  I had never heard of the company before they released the kit, and hadn’t seen anything else from them after.
