Juggernut
Well, for the time being, if Canadian modelers don’t have an airbrush setup, they should immediately get one. I don’t know how receptive Tamiya will be to changing their formula but even if they are, it will take a while; I’m thinking at least a year. Out2gtcha
That is some craziness for sure. I have and use and airbrush for 75% or more of my work, but there is a call for rattle cans for sure, and Tamiya makes some of the best.
LSP_Ron
I'm going to stock up on rattle cans tomorrow. I use them a lot with car modeling and some base colors on everything. They are brilliant spray cans. LSP_Matt, LSP_K2 and Out2gtcha
Juggernut
I have a can of AS-12. That’s about the only spray bomb I have.
LSP_Mike
Smart move Ron. Everything you need and extra for trade bait.
LSP_Ron
Their primer is awesome, the silvers and different options of matt/semi gloss and gloss black come in really handy.
Dpgsbody55
Agreed. Tamiya rattle cans are brilliant for many modelling applications. Now you've got me worried that the bird brained politicians in this country will initiate a similar ban. Why is it that so many have to suffer because of the actions of a few?? I guess such is the age we live in... Cheers, Michael RBrown
Christa
Who can call for the relevant Canadian government authority to publish the specific content prohibition causing this Tamiya rattle can ban?
blackbetty
i dont know if birdbrains of politicians are the reason for this if research of substances you are exposed to wouldnt go on we would still use DDT and drive vehicles with leaded gasoline..... johncrow, Fanes and Christa
MikeMaben
I wonder if it's the paint or the propellent ?? Christa
thierry laurent
I'm also wondering if this is not because they are sold in hobby shops. Otherwise I'm afraid it would not be possible either to get any car paint/primer spray can...!?! Christa and nmayhew
Out2gtcha
I can literally drive down to Home Depot 5 min from my house and they have all SORTS of aerosol products I could purchase that would be every bit and more harmful to me to use than a Tamiya rattle can. BloorwestSiR
I think it must be the propellant. Tamiya Lacquer paint in bottles isn't affected, nor is their bottled primer. The PS Spray is for polycarbonate (RC car bodies) so doesn't have an equivalent in bottle form. To me, if it was the paint, then those would have been banned as well. Rick Griewski
So sorry to hear this. The white primer is my go to for many types of kits. Mr. Surfacer will have to do. Stock up.
