A few of the 32nd SIG/LSP tables.
Smashing to see Phartycroc's Viggen on display. It was the only one I spotted at the show and looked superb. You've done a cracking job of that one Pharty me old mucker! It was a pleasure to chat to you about it.
One thing I noticed was how popular the Tornadoes were. There were a great many dotted around the halls.
The one below was promoting a range of resin accessories.
I need to edit a bunch more now.
Back soon.

Hi everyone,
Apologies for any duplication of info from other threads. I didn't want to inundate other members topics with a slew of photos and commentary so started this one. with that said, Mods, please feel free to combine this topic with others if that works best.
I was lucky to attend Telford this year after missing last years show. I'd signed up for IPMS membership which gave me free entry to I went on both days.
As has been mentioned elsewhere the busiest day is Saturday. I arrived at approx 11:30am to see some modellers already scurrying away from the venue after a blitzkrieg style exercise to snaffle their prize bargains
There were alot of people there!
I began with a gentle amble around the halls and one of the first stands was HK. Neil was displaying the A-20 and new parts for the next versions.
I had a very brief chat with Neil and found him to be a very enthusiastic and friendly gent.
After that I wandered around the stands and stalls snapping pics of an LSPs I could.
This stand was impressive.
The Lancs were animated with spinning props and lights. The engines all started one by one and then shut down in a similar manner.
I'm in the middle of sorting through my photos (there are many) so I'll add to this thread as soon as I get a batch uploaded.
In the meantime here are a few to be going on with.

Anyone catch a scale on that Mojave? It's so cool looking!
MattI would guess 1/35 or 1/32nd. It looked pretty big.

Love that grey scale Spitfire

Hi Jay, the painted prop and spinner look brilliant.
Have you heard of 1manArmy?
I believe the owner might be called Sven (please correct me if I'm wrong someone.)
His company produces extremely fine stencil masks. I'm talking legible stencil data placards at 1/48th scale.
I don't know if he produces custom work but it can't hurt to drop him a line can it?

You had me all excited when I saw the subject. What a let down.
I'm sure it will be a good kit, but I haven't built anything that small since the early '70's. Maybe there might be an announcement on the next 1/24 kit soon I hope. Perhaps a Spitfire MkVIII?? Dare we hope for a Spitfire XIV???
Cheers,
Michael
Those would be cool but..........perhaps don't hold your breath........

Scouring through the trader list it doesn't look like DACO are attending SMW this year.

That's really clever Paul.
But you know all it does is stir up the Luftwaffe fans.......I can already hear the clamour for the Bf-110

Re: Kits in other scales.
If I remember correctly the guys at Airfix were cagey about that. They explained that even though they had all the information it wasn't simply a matter of upscaling or downscaling things.
Separate scales are in essence completely new and different models requiring individual and unrelated designs.
This is likely the reason why they don't simply pop out 1/24th scale models of all of their popular 1/72nd and 1/48th scale kits

They're not modest are they?

There's a bold statement if ever there was one.

Thanks for sharing the idea @red Dog. The effect looks great.
Is the tape the same light tan/off white colour as real slime lights when not glowing?
Cheers.

Great stuff Jay. The hood appears to have real potential.
I'm interested to see how the finished item looks after you've removed all of the surface texture to give a nice, smooth finish.
What intrigues me is whether any layer lines will be evident through the clear parts. I wonder if there will be some kind of polarizing effect from certain angles?
I certainly hope not but the process does lay one layer of resin on top of an already cured layer. Hopefully the transition between layers blends seamlessly.
How delicate are these clear parts and how thin can you get them before they are too fragile to work on?
Cheers.

Another Telford SMW 2023 thread. Caution, picture heavy.

This one was of special interest to me as I bought a WNW Sopwith Camel to recreate this exact scheme. It was built by a local company in Lincoln that claims to have invented the tank.
