  2. Glad to see you have started this one Max. Im following this closely for my future build. Maybe I'll have the confidence to start it this year.
  3. 1. Marder III H conversion 2. ME- 410 by HPH 3. Ju-88 conversions 4. WNW Fokker DVII I will partially build all the rest.
  4. Given that you will have time to buy all the AM for the kit.
  5. Main issue is that they are extremely thick, and the carrier film is hard to remove (even though some have succeeded using enamel thinner).
  6. They wait shall be worth. It has really, really nice looking parts. Regards - dutik
  7. Today
  8. Thanks Kev. I just need to take a break from WIPs as lately, a lot of what I start doesn't get finished, and who wants to watch a thread that amounts to not much? At least it serves as an example of what not too do
  9. fitting the windshield was challengeing
  10. Yeah eduard do have some funny colors to their PE , i find a thin wash of your cockpit color or what ever color your panel is seems to tone it done and blends it in to match . Their rlm 66 is not the best but using the gunze 66 that i use in the rest of the cockpit it does work out . It is a very nice kit and builds into a very nice model ,as one of our local club has just finnished it . Have fun ,cheers Wayne
  11. Sub zero level of coolness. Your efforts make me wanna pull canopies from all my Vipers and Eagles.
  12. Man, that is just about one of the coolest looking Vipers around. Love it!
  13. That’s a bummer, Si. I hope you can resurrect it at some stage. Sad to think that you won’t be sharing any more of your builds, so I hope you’ll reconsider when the pain wears off! Kev
  14. Hello Håkan, Coming along Nicely!! Really good choice of color scheme, that one will be a keeper! Keep up the good work. Cheers Boris
  15. No problem, James. I'll dig them out over the weekend and get back to you. If not, just bump into me. Juraj
  16. Sadly, I am putting this away for the foreseeable future. Yep, it's happened yet again and to add insult to injury, some paint has completely lifted at the back Needless to say, I am more than just a tad annoyed. I am not striping this back for the 5th or 6th time ( its happened so often I have actually forgotten the exact amount). Maybe once I've calmed down enough to look at it again I will but until then, I don't want to know about it. I'm truly sorry for those watching but I'm sure you will understand I think that's it for me an WIPs now. I'll continue on with the Star Destroyer because that's too big a project not to update it when I get to it, but in terms of new builds - it's pretty unlikely that I'll do another WIP. I thought this one would be pretty straight forward but it's been anything but and I'm over it. Thank you to those who showed support along the way by posting and liking - I really appreciate it and its to those people that I am sorry to. As always, thanks for stopping in and I shall see you around Si
  17. Oh, white that is such a difficult color to get opaque
  18. Hi elric, Good to hear from a fellow joint record holder…I wonder who the other four are? I’ll let you know if/when mine arrives My best guess is that having arrived on a weekend the pallet was shifted into a gloomy corner of some shed and there it still sits… Doesn’t fill me with a great deal of confidence for the Neptune and Drakens that are due to follow I hope JetMADS get a better response from Royal Mail than I did. I’ve got a similar problem with an order from Phase Hangar but at least RM have acknowledged receipt…twice…thirteen days apart, then tumbleweed since 25th March. Luckily an order from Jan Kopecky zipped through without issue, phew. To date I’ve been lucky with almost anything from Europe, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand etc…sometimes even arriving quicker than domestic post…seems to be more problematical if the origin is the US and Turkey Keep those fingers crossed, Rick (Day 72)
  19. Thanks guys! I wish Eduard would do 1/32 as well. I love their range and quality of 1/48 scale WW2 fighters but frankly, the scale is just too small for my preferences. I enjoy working on LSPs the best. I've cobbled together two versions of the instrument panel. One is pre-painted Eduard photoetch panels glued onto the kit plastic parts (right). The other is the kit plastic parts with the molded detail and the kit decals placed over it (left). It took a bit of effort to get the decal to conform to the molded detail using multiple applications of Microsol, Solvaset, a sharp knife and physical pressure. The remaining silvering around the instruments was carefully painted out. The Eduard version is clearly superior in terms of detail but the purplish grey color, which isn't apparent in the picture below, bugs me. Haven't decided yet but I'm leaning towards using the decal version because I like the color better. I'm slowly working on the cockpit components. It's not as straightforward as it could be since some of the Eduard PE is pre-painted, which means I have to pre-paint some of the plastic parts before the PE is glued on. But it's getting there. In the meantime, I've taken the time to open up the fuselage openings aft of the engine. I'm not going to do too much extra detailing in the cockpit but I didn't like the throttle quadrant so I've cut off the levers and will make new ones.
  20. Mighty nice work Mike! Looking forward to the final result!
  21. Well, this is the painting scheme I love Lysander the most! BTW: It's a shame we don't have a decent, and up to current standards model on the market. This is an interesting design and an important plane as well!
  22. Fantastic model! Please do us a favour and take a picture of your complete collection!
  23. I'm a lousy figure painter too Rich. I used to brush paint the whole figure. With this one I put the guy together then primed , then painted the whole figure the tan suit color. My hands aren't as steady as they used to be so I did the details with colored pencils , sometimes dipped in water. Other details were applied with some very tiny fine tipped brushes I have. There was plenty of painting , booboo, painting to fix the booboo, another booboo, round and round Find whatever you can with a fine pointed tip, doesn't have to be a brush and apply small amounts at a time. Don't be frightened, jump in. (this from a rookie figure painter. We need folks like williamj and others here who do super figures, to show us how it's done).
  24. OK, some base color spritzed on the interior now. Detail painting to follow. Just for the sake of variety, the seat frame will be a slightly different (darker) green. The Aires bits are really nice, and add a certain serious look to the interior.
