Marvelous.  Great presentation.  You have the Magic Midas Touch.  It's wonderful to see you progress through a build.  Every new post is a delight.  Thanks a HEAP for sharing your build process and progress.

PS.

John,

I'm going to lead off with WOW!

Your paint and weathering demonstrates to good effect the continual use and the harsh environment this machine lived in.

Just simply fantastic sir!!!

Barry

Thanks Barry!  I stuck to the weathering techniques that I've used in the past but I think I need to stock up on a few more.

Painting and weathering are exceptional. Far past my skill level.

Dan

Thank you Dan!  Everyone's got their strengths and weaknesses.  I'm ok at painting but scratchbuilding is skill that I greatly admire but sadly lack.

John,

What a great build!

The paint & weathering are first class.

Nice touch with the parachute :)

Thanks for posting.

Larry

Thanks Larry! The parachute is from True Details and they make versions for the Luftwaffe and RAF as well as the US.

After seeing this, I'm taking up Lego.

Thanks Gerhard!  I say the same thing when I see some of the work that's posted here at LSP!

Amazing..., masterly build, I can only hope that mine would come out half as good as this bird! Great job! :beer4:

The Tamiya kit is amazing so no matter what, you'll definitely enjoy building it!

Thanks Mark!  Just doing what we love to do! The Work in Progress link has been fixed! Oh... and I picked up a batch of that SIG microballon stuff.  Initial tests have been very positive... thanks for the reference!

This model would win everything at the model contests I have attended, including best of show.  Truly spectacular John.  You should be proud.

Cheers,

Chuck

Thanks Chuck!  I get lots of inspiration from the builders here at LSP, including yourself!

very impresive, especially the weathering and blending of the paints.  I'm a fan for sure.

Thanks Wingmany777!  Although I enjoy most if not all stages of the build, I think tying in all of the weathering levels with that first flat coat is one of my favorites.

It's a perfect example of shrink ray modelling.

Thank you!  I'm not really familiar with the Corsair but I got a lot of expert guidance from the LSP community, including an excellent suggestion to pick up Dana Bell's Corsair Volume 2, which I did.

Fantastic John!

Brilliant finish and weathering. Absolutely love it Sir!

Cheers,

Wolf

Thanks Wolf!  One of fondest little things about this build is how the throttle quadrant came out and that was essentially a copy of your great work!  Looking forward to seeing more of your Corsair!
