Daco Fouga Magister available!

From the Daco website:

The Fouga Magister had been planned to be made into a model kit by DACO Products for a long time. Originally, it was intended to be a 1/48 scale kit, but when Kinetic and AMK brought theirs to market, it was decided to expand the project to a larger scale: 1/32. However, this meant that almost all the parts had to be redesigned, with much more detail and twice as many parts...

Although this project took about 10 years to complete, yes some years were 'lost' due to the painful design of the instruction sheets and the research for the decals artwork, but during September 2024 - as Special for the 35th Anniversary of DACO Products - this beautiful kit is finally available.

This kit contains over 570 parts (400 unique parts), with specific parts for six different cockpit versions, with separate engines, detailed guns and other armaments, but most importantly: it is accurate!

Only 250 "white cover box" kits have been initially produced for this special event, and with over 200 people responding on the survey regarding the kits price, with around 300 kits requested: don't hesitate too long if you want your copy at your workbench!

And even if I had hoped to keep the price of this Fouga kit below 100 euros, the war in Gaza and the related attacks on cargo ships in the Red Sea beyond Yemen - which forces sea freight to go around South Africa - an additional 25 euros has to be asked to compensate the extra costs of shipping them to Belgium...

The decal sheet will cover detailed markings for four Belgian Fougas (period 1960-'65, 1965-'80, 1980-'96 and MT05 Red Devils), one French and one German Fouga.

(decal sheet still needs to be printed so it will be send afterwards)

Got the email too and already put in an order.  Glad Danny kept persevering with getting this kit out.  Hopefully some Israeli decals will come out for the kit.

I wouldn't be surprised if Berna produced some.

I'm so pleased this lovely aircraft model has finally arrived! I've now placed my order and even with the understandable price increase I think the model is good value! I want to do a Tiger Meet aircraft if the decals are ever done but there are so many other tempting schemes to consider as well!

Well done to Daco for getting it out to market at last! :D
