Quite interesting! I also didn´t get any special info on that. Made my payment a week ago and received the order confirmation, but no additional info on any delay.

I did not even receive a confirmation, just a PayPal note telling me the payment had been made.

(Later)

Well, color me !  I did a careful search thru all my emails and found "Your DACO Products order confirmation" hiding in there.

How do you know if you were part of the first run or missed it, Tony?  I ask because I've heard nothing since I made the payment last Saturday.

Thanks!

The first run of 250 Fouga kits was sold out on the first day of the IPMS Belgium convention.

Last Friday, I got this e-mail from Danny saying this:

‘The Fouga kits have been delivered today from Customs and will be mailed out early next week to you…’

I guess this is the ‘regular’ email sent to every customer abroad as I’ve received the day before a notification from bpost (Belgian Post) saying that they’ve received a parcel from DACO and expected to deliver it between 13/09 and 17/09.

So rest assured, folks. Your Fouga is coming! :yahoo:

OK now, this is getting really weird . . . I have an order number, and I paid 8/9.  I don't know my status (again).

Rest assured Mark. If you have an order number 930 like the rest of us, you have your confirmation.

Keep in mind that DACO is a one-man operation and as such don’t respond as quickly as what we’re used to on e-commerce.

Good to know, quang.

As Quang posted, above. I was simply too late but have signed up for the "inform me of 2nd run". If you've paid you'll get one.

I must profess to having found the Daco website not the easiest to negotiate, which is why my initial attempt at ordering failed. It's more set up for a big screen like a desktop, not a dinky tablet.

Anyroad, here's hoping the 2nd run is fairly soon and that it comes with the decals on an ab initio basis. I'm happy for a plain box. No need for shop attractive packaging which will just add to the cost.

Mine has tracking for coming across the pond and will be shipped from the Netherlands. I'll have to wait for Danny to make that journey with other packages.

So regular postage  – i.e. non courier – from Belgium is risky?  Trying to make sense of the overly complex order form was why I failed to order before stocks ran out. Am happy to wait however long but really hoping I'll just receive a regular PayPal invoice rather than renegotiating the Daco funfair.

If you chose Belgian post tracking wasn't an option, whereas from the Netherlands it's included, which is what I went with.

I don't know whether it's risky or not, but tracking wasn't available from Belgium, only Netherlands and Germany. I believe Danny mentions on his site that he tries to drive to those countries once a month to ship orders for those that have selected that option when he gets enough to make the trip worthwhile.

I realise all that. The question really was whether it was risky to order with no tracking from Belgium, based on people's experience.

The text on the Daco site frequently changes primary colour which gives me a headache. Too "noisy"!

Not risky. Quite the contrary!
The postage for every parcel (any size, up to 3kg) sent inside Belgium costs 5 euros with automatic tracking ( We all know that DACO asking 10 euro to us Belgian customers, is ‘slightly’ exaggerated ). Delay usually is one working day. My Fouga was dispatched last Friday and due to arrive to-morrow Friday because of the non-working two-day week-end.

Yet the rates for tracked envoys from Belgium to non-EU countries are very high compared to our neighbours (the Nederland and Germany).
That would explain why Daco chose to send overseas from Holland or Germany. All benefits go to overseas customers! ;)

DACO website invariably makes me think of airport hubs. Flashing lights everywhere and countless but useless informations. :BANGHEAD2:

I honestly would just be happy if DACO were to let me know where I stand.  If I was one of the lucky ones and due to get a kit soon, great!  If not, and there doesn't appear to be any set schedule for the next production run, I'd just as soon get my money back.  Or at least a word telling me what's going on.

If your order (and payment) went through you should be getting a confirmation.  Check your spam folder (could be hiding there).

my confiramtion cam nearly 12 hours after my order (courtesy of yahoo.com), but I had already got confirmation from Daco through email conversation.
