Wackyracer
Nearly there! Added the new sliding canopy and some odds and ends so just a bit more weathering to do. scvrobeson, Scale32, Landrotten Highlander and 9 others

fastterry
This is not meant to be a criticism, but one of the other pearls of info searched out by Edgar was that all Spits up to and including the MkVIII (which also include the PRXI) were painted with aluminium lacquer in the rear fuselage right up to the rear of the frame directly behind the pilot. Grey green seems to have been used in the later high back Griffon engined spits from what I can gather. This is just a note for future reference for all the Spitfire builders out there. Wackyracer
Back on the Vc and finally to paint. Preshading with browns and blues Then gunze h314 for the sky blue underside. Test fitted the hurricane 44 gallon tanks retro fitted to some spits. I'll find the photo! Busman
Interesting the cannons are in the outboard positions not seen that on a Mk Vc before. nmayhew

A question on the 44 gallon tanks after looking at your reference pic - are they the right way around in your rendition? The ground clearance indicates a taper at the rear of the tanks. looking forward to seeing the rest of your build!

Yes I've been humming and harring which way they should go and their only test fitted at the moment. The filler port is definitely at the pointy end so unsure? Wackyracer
So today was a good day at the bench... Started by a rough desert camo of dark earth and middle stone. Then dark Mediterranean blue mix over the top but not to heavy to mask the original. Aaron Rivas, Fanes, MikeMaben and 3 others
