Man, that is just about one of the coolest looking Vipers around. Love it!

Lancaster - for the nostalgia, the Merlins, and the pure history of the type.
Lightning - a family friend was a pilot of them in the late 70’s-early 80’s. Describes it as the best flying of his entire (very long) career.
F-16 - it’s my childhood hero. The very first fighter aircraft I’d ever sat in. The pilot spent an hour with me, showing me everything he could. He’s just finished flying a demo’. The jet was still warm and ticking as it cooled down. I was hooked on the Viper from that moment. No other type gives me the same feeling of excitement.

Not a single one of my models can be called accurate. I started out sweating on the little inaccuracies, and found I just didn’t enjoy the hobby. Added to that, I junked models because I deemed them not accurate enough. I was constantly making comparisons between my own, and some of the modelling superstars we have here. That caused a complete lack of enjoyment.
I soon switched to a system of overlooking shape and proportion inaccuracies. If it looks like what I’m trying to build, that will do for me. -
I’m so envious of that setup Olivier. The level of immersion there has gotta be amazing to experience.

Argh! Refuelling, is the bane of my existence currently. With having new controllers and now Track IR, it’s like I’m learning the skill from scratch.
I’m just about proficient with hose and drogue, although my approaches take longer than I’d like.
It’s now boom refuelling with the Viper, and the keeping station, while glancing at the indicator lights, and keeping my reference points in their positions, is a whole new challenge. -

impressive I have a saitek(now logitech ) x52 which is not eay to program. hmm no ruddr pedals although not really needed in the f 16
That was my rationale for not buying any yet. I’ve bound the rudder axis to one of the cursor controls on the throttle.
In the future, I do plan to delve into the AH-64D, and will absolutely need those pedals. -

If I were skilled enough, and had the motivation to, it’d have to be an F-111. A real brute of a jet.

That’s a pretty special finish there Guy. As I’d suspected, you’ve knocked it outta the park. I love the subtlety of your weathering, producing a photorealistic finish.

Things have changed since my last update here, having decided to liquidate the remains of the stash. This will now be the last of my model builds of any sort. I’ve felt like I’ve been going through the motions, and won’t be starting anything new after this is finished.
The next mini model is ready for construction, the port main gear assemblies, and wing construction.

Love it!
All thats left is for you to send it to me so I can put it with my Flanker, this saving me the job of building one and going through that paint job.

With your fancy new 3D printer…..you gonna put a miniature Kristi in there?

Sub zero level of coolness.
Your efforts make me wanna pull canopies from all my Vipers and Eagles.
