312_Karl
Hello guys, this is my first contribution to the forum. It Ãs a well known Reisen from Tamiya in 1:32 scale. This model depicts the plane with the serial number 5349 from the carrier Hiryu during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Aftermarket parts: HGW seatbelts, metal submachine gun barrels, resin wheels. Colors: Tamiya, GSI Creos (Gunze C) Enjoy! HL-10, Shaka HI, Nick32 and 20 others

ringleheim
Your work here is absolutely fantastic. I have this plane in the stash and I'd be very happy indeed if it turns out this nice! What paint did you use for those blue stripes? Color looks great. Also, very nice photography. Really professional looking stuff.

If I may; those stripes I believe are the Tamiya decals as they're the wrong shade of blue for the Hiryu, the real shade having been a darker shade of blue. Those light blue stripes do not detract one bit from the beautiful build though. Very nicely done.
312_Karl
Hi guys, all stripes, hinomaru roundels and tail code are airbrushed using masks. I used decals only for small stencils. The blue color is GSI C323 (pale blue for japanese planes) with several drops of Tamiya Blue (XF-8 flat blue). It is darker in the real light conditions. I would like to see the color picture (not colorized) of Reisen from Hiryu or Soryu (or Tainan Kokutai). LSP_Kevin

Dpgsbody55
A very nice build. I like the colour differentiation between the metal and fabric surfaces and how you've captured the surface detail in the painting. Nice!! Cheers, Michael
Ilya
Spectacular work, Karl! And the decals fitted good. In my model I was afraid of them, and used HGW wet transfer.
