The Aircraft we would HAVE to Scratch Build Right Now

DH 60 Gipsy Moth  (with DH 82 donor)

DH 83 Fox Moth     (with DH 82 donor)

DH 110 Sea Vixen FAW 1

Consolidated PBY Catalina

The first two might make it to completion in this life, but I think a Sea Vixen and a Catalina needed starts thirty years ago, maybe forty..

Don't HPH make a 1/32nd scale Catalina? :hmmm:

Miiiiiiike, Miiiiiike! That Fw187 looks like the illegitimate offspring of a Herschel Hs129 and a Westland Whirlwind! Niiiice.

@Shoggz The Firefly would surely sell!  - great choices.

@Christa Oh Chris….More or less all of DeHavilland’s output should be made by someone! Impeccable choices from you there. Tip of the cap to you Sir! 100%

1/24 F4U-1a Corsair.

1/32 F-106 Delta Dart.

1/32 B-26 Marauder.

1/24 Sopwith Triplane.

1/24 Sopwith Snipe.

Now @Model_Monkey Steve….”3 shall be the holy number” so you can have the Corsair, the Delta Dart and the Marauder (such a ‘right’ looking plane) but now your re really pushing it with the the Tripehound and the Snipe…. :P:rofl:. A little part of me thinks all WWI fighters would be best in 1/24 but what do I know?

@Erwin totally agree with you and others who want a Defiant!

These would be my three:

1/32 B-26 Marauder

1/32 F-111 Aardvark

1/32 G4M Betty

All very significant aircraft, and all missing in 1/32 (at least as far as the injection molded/resin stipulation in concerned).

The F-111 would be huge in 1/32nd scale wouldn't it?

How does it compare in size to something like an F-105 or Su-27?

It is a large airplane, absolutely. It is larger than an F-105. However, it's about the same size as a 1/32 B-17, so if one can be done, the other can as well :-)

Hello there!

In this totally unscientific review here is the list of aircraft that have more than one vote apiece

Ju 52.                                    2

Bristol Blenheim.                  2

F11 Tiger.                              3

Anson.                                  3

Fairey Battle.                        3

Heinkel He177.                     2

Cessna A-37.                       3

Fairey Firefly.                       2

DeHavilland Chipmunk.       3

Boulton Paul Defiant.           3

Auster J-Series.                   3 The Austers and Chippie get three each because ‘I likes ‘‘em’ and I made this nonsense vote up! :P

Interesting

Kind regards,

Paul

Speaking scratch building, as what I would like has little chance of being kitted in any form:

Martin Baker MB 2, especially the first version without any fin!

Lockheed Model 9 Orion, a beautiful and fast little airliner.

Have Blue stealth prototype, the cute little one compared to the F-117.

Wow! I'd never seen this aircraft before Mike. It's a great candidate for a scratch build.

It looks like someone threw a Helldiver, Thunderbolt and Skyraider into a blender and this is the result.

I Like it.

The Chipmunk would be on my list too as would a Folland Gnat/HAL Ajeet. I'd even go (1/24th for that tiny aircraft)

The mauler is one big son of a gun! 1/3 bigger than a Skyraider, with an R4360 under the hood! It wasn't a very successful design but ,man it is impressive. I want to say they built about 150 or so.

Would like to get 1:33 card models of the following three to use as patterns for scratchbuilt styrene versions:

1:  Su-15TM Flagon

2: RF-101C Voodoo

3: Fairey Delta FD.2

Unfortunately I don't believe any of those are available as card models.

Hi Tony,

I think Tigger did a 1/32 Su15…

Kind regards,

Paul

Quite a few of the aircraft mentioned are available from Tigger or the Combat range (although the latter is no longer producing) vacs. I have a F-111, Catalina and Sea Vixen in 1/32 and all are an excellent basis for a good model - at least the basic vac shapes a good starting point and negate the need for a total scratch build.
