The Aircraft we would HAVE to Scratch Build Right Now

We ALL have our wishlists and this will probably generate eye-rolls from some of the community (so my apologies if this is not your sort of thing).

I am highly interested in what are the top three aircraft that have NEVER been made as a released injection molded nor resin kit in 1/32 or 1/24 .

I’m not including 1/35 as most aircraft have not been kitted in that scale.

This is NOT about the likelihood of them being kitted, just the aircraft you most want and would HAVE to scratch build to get one right now.

Mine are the following (and all are 1/32)

1. Junkers Ju 52/3m - because I want to build a civil version.

There are actually 2 out there in the wild, the best being the Schmitt-Modellbau kit, and the Combat kit. The Combat kit might be more readily available (in a relative sense), but the Schmitt kit is a gem.

No Helicopters for you my boy. Three! :D

Hmm, probably a Voodoo, Xf10F Jaguar, and something French from the 1950s.

1/32 Brigitte Bardot coming right up!

Kind regards,

Paul

Indeed Lee.

The Combat version is a copy of the Modelbau Schmitt kit - I have both.

Iain

Thank you both! Good to know. Now to find such a beast….

Kind regards,

Paul

Let me see where I've put the Combat kit Paul - it *might* be available.

The Schmitt kit I started a looong time ago - but I suspect I may have 'file thirteened' the fuselage/wings...

Yup, I had a couple of those, though one was a mess with a lot of tears. I sold them off, though, as this is one kit I would prefer in 1/35th for obvious reasons.

My 3 aircraft: Fokker G.I

F-102 ( I have the vac, but its still 80% Scratch!)

                        Grumman Goose

#1) Auster series.

Preferably a J1b, but all of the J series would be splendid.

#2) Beechcraft Staggerwing series.

(The ITC/ Staggerwings Unlimited kit doesn't count, one look at it and you know there is literally nothing accurate about it, or could be used to help a scratch build.

#3 Grumman Widgeon.

I'd love ALL the grumman amphibs in large scale, but if only one, the G44 Is MY dream plane.

4th runner up, and i agree with @Iain, a Chipmunk would be fantastic! My father owns one and getting to fly him in it recently was a monumental occasion that I'd love to replicate in model form :D

Mine would require tailhooks, so:  Big Banjo, Curtiss SBC Helldiver bipe, any anti sub airplane from Grumman.  As an aside, I’m more than a little surprised that we see many of the same airframes pop up, which tells me that most of what we want is already available somewhere.
