LSP_K2
'Pit parts now all assembled. Rather oddly, there is no bulkhead forward of the rudder pedals and IP. Hopefully that won't be too noticeable. coogrfan, R Palimaka, Martinnfb and 7 others
LSP_K2
Port side exhaust area cleaned up pretty well, starboard side will unfortunately be a bit more of a hassle. I also think the light under the canopy area needs to go, but have not yet confirmed. Shoggz, spyrosjzmichos, Dpgsbody55 and 7 others
LSP_K2
Intake pieces now assembled, but will need some minor putty work, so some wonderful Vallejo stuff will come to the rescue there. I'll also round off the intake lips, as per the real deal, which would have been much easier to do before assembling the top and bottom pieces together. LSP_K2
Kit bomb, 500 pounder, I assume. Or I may go with an Eduard 500 pounder or the kit fuel tank, still not sure yet. Shoggz, Johnny Cloud, chaos07 and 6 others

Archimedes
HI Kevin good progress here on a kit that has its challenges! Kind regards, Paul

Through no fault of the kit itself though, I finally realized that there is an additional ring that goes on the intake front, so rounding off the edges of the pieces above, was a mistake. I may steal the intake pieces from my E kit, as they are identical, and I really want this kit to turn out as good as I can make it, within reason. Archimedes
Ah, we’ve all done something like that and then realised we need to take a step back! The intake on the P-40 is a particularly interesting affair and it’s not the front that is the bigger challenge but the back . The shots below are courtesy of IPMS Stockholm and are of a P-40E so ignore the white tubes on the frontal shot. The last photo is of a P-40N where the tubes are deleted. Front: Rear P40-N (note tubes deleted) This peerless build in the link below by Nick Mayhew @nmayhew is excellent and will stop me from running into some of the kit’s quirkier aspects when I get to mine. I hope it may help you too. P-40 Build Kind regards, Paul Johnny Cloud, Kagemusha, LSP_K2 and 4 others
LSP_K2
I've decided to go with what I already have, so the seam in the intake is now smeared up with Vallejo putty. Archimedes, chaos07, Anthony in NZ and 5 others
LSP_K2
Taking a bit of a shortcut here, I bought the RF "E" 'pit set, as it's more than close enough for me. I also grabbed some Gunze interior green, so perhaps tomorrow I can spritz the interior. Baby steps. chaos07, Archimedes, Johnny Cloud and 7 others
LSP_K2
The scheme I'm presently leaning toward. I have this on a Zotz sheet, but am also contemplating the fündecals Lulu Bell. D Bellis, KUROK, Dpgsbody55 and 6 others
Tolga ULGUR
I built White 21 a few years ago. Note the old style big wheels. If you are considering building this, I am attaching my article with a reference photo. Do you recall what specific OD you used, ANA 613 or 41? Thanks.
LSP_K2
I dragged out my Classic Warships book on the P-40, but found it of no use regarding exterior colors, as the P-40Ns are not covered in this volume. Bummer. Johnny Cloud
fastterry
I was just sorting out my photo collection of P-40s and I noticed that the profile above serial number has a nine at the end and the photo definitely shows an eight. Thought you should know to save embarrassment from eagle eyes in the future. TRF LSP_K2
