Alot of research on the config, and alot of digital modeling time. How is it you are going so quickly? Takes me forever. I tend to work on parts like this(the turret)I just use a basic drawing that has overall dimensions, and use as much photographic and manual drawings and work on the ergonomics of a scale person fitting in and using the equipment, I already had drawn and printed the 50 cal. machine guns that were based on full size dimensions so I knew that the guns a person, gunsight, ammo feed chutes and just kind of make it all fit until it looks close to the photos... I always try to remember scale wall thicknesses while I work, always think about the real world and what practical thicknesses would be on a real piece of equipment and always keep that magic number in my head, "an inch in this scale is".... Thanks for looking, Pat Greg W, Derek B, JayW and 2 others

chaos07
This is an incredible build so far. Between your 3d design skills and modeling skills, the end result will surely be a phenomenal representation. This is one of my favorite threads to watch - truly amazing. patricksparks

brahman104
Incredible work Pat! The stringers and formers really look the business, as does the Bombardier's control panel and table. Craig patricksparks
Borsos
Breathtaking! but sorry, I need to ask this: Isn’t 1:18 scale a little too small for a model of a B-17…? patricksparks and Derek B 1
