Especially compared to that of the P-47, which looks like it was painted by the boss' nephew on a friday afternoon, with the kit due to be released monday... LSP_K2 Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 After years of contemplation, I finally succumbed and ordered some needed calipers. chukw, Trak-Tor, dutik and 6 others 9
denders Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Yeah, I bought a similar unit to make it easier to deal with metric. I have a dial caliper which I've had for two score and ......... I got tired of the conversion work between inches and mm. And I'm sure the digital unit cost way less than the original unit. LSP_K2 1

I wanted to grab a Starrett, but they're just too darn pricey for my budget, and probably overkill anyway. These seem very well made though, so I'm a happy guy.
LSP_K2 Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 Yet another kit landed today (must be a coincidence). This is very special to me. I built this car many, many years ago as a young lad (the '65 AWB Mustang GT), and have been wanting to build a tribute to it for quite a while, so now I finally can. Here's hoping this new one turns out much better than the old. Uncarina, dutik, Trak-Tor and 4 others 7
LSP_K2 Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 Brand spanky new CO2 tank purchased today. Now I'm good for another couple years of spraying. chukw, Rick Griewski, Kagemusha and 1 other 4
Rick Griewski Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 The VP and I, treasurer for our IPMS club used 2 hours to wander through our LHS to buy various models for our Christmas raffle. What fun. We ended up 12 kits of various subjects. The rules were variety and recent releases only. Life is good. My face still hurts from smiling. Furie, LSP_K2 and Neo 3
intheway Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) I remember reading this book in college in the mid 80's. So when I saw it at a flea market, I picked it up for a re-read. Then of course, I saw the kit at my local shop and had to get it as well. Should be fun as I've never actually built a Stuka before in any scale and the Hasegawa kit has good reviews. Always wanted to build his “kite” with that chunk of pine tree wedged into the leading edge of the wing. there had to be some really close calls doing that kind of dive bombing attack. ya, it’s a good read
BloorwestSiR Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I went to the LHS today as they are having a big sale. Got the cement I was looking for as well as a couple kits. Newest to oldest, coogrfan, Uncarina, Rick Griewski and 13 others 16
