Adrian
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. At one stage the Buccaneer was the only foreign aeroplane poster on the crew room at Nellis as no-one could believe that something that looked like the Buccaneer could go so low, so fast for so long. In a book I had about red flag there was a story about a Buccaneer that hit a telegraph pole while climbing up to avoid it. Said Buccaneer had a telegraph pole kill mark on its nose for a while. Apparently Buccaneer crews used to press the panels of other, more lightly built, aircraft and when feeling some give would walk away muttering about 'not being built to last'. Would settle for a new 1/48 kit but 1/32 would be awesome, need a grey navy, grey/green RAF, gulf war and raspberry ripple as a minimum. Used to see them deploy to St Mawgan quite regularly.
