BlackCanopy
This is such a beautiful bird. The only downside of the IAR is the lack of variation when it comes to painting schemes... Rick Griewski and Iain

Iain
This is such a beautiful bird. The only downside of the IAR is the lack of variation when it comes to painting schemes... There are quite a lot of subtle changes from batch to batch - I could go on for quite a while with these. Next one, after this is finished, is already lined up and will be an overall grey Communist airframe. Still think it's one of the most attractive WWII fighters - great to see kits of it! Iain
Hi folks - calling this one done - but I'm really not happy with it... I ran out of the matt/satin varnish I'm used to using and thought I'd try Tamiya clear - with added matting agent. Whilst I did test on another subject - with good results, using it over the Quickshine gloss coat here has resulted in some frosting - too much matting agent! So here she is - great fun to build, lovely subject, spoiled by yours truly... Have to finish the write-up now - I *may* have a go at re-coating with something a little less 'frosty' at some point in the future - but for now, I need to walk away... LSP_Ray
Looks great to me, Iain! It's not frosting, its a bit of sun-bleaching! Although, to tell the truth, I can't see any frosting in the pictures...
