Warbird got a reaction from F`s are my favs in F-104G "KLU" - Italeri 1/32
    Hi All,

This is Italeri's 104 with Reskit exhaust, Master pitot, Eduard wheels and seat. A few additions here and there but otherwise a straightforward build.
The kit has its pros and cons and I think others have already given enough feedback about it.
This plane was based in Leeuwarden (Netherlands) during the late 70' - early 80'. "D-8115" markings are paint otherwise I used the (top-notch) decals from the box.
Paint is AK Real. Photos taken outside so light varies a little bit...
    Cheers
    Tristan

    Hi Guys,

    Slowly but surely progressing.

The Aires MK10 tornado seats have been "pimped" to better match the Hawk version. Plastic card, wires, and the sides from the kit seats and I called it a day.

With a coat of Mr Hobby black surfacer

I spare you the struggle to get a smooth intake duct. I decided to close the fuselage before painting the cockpit - It is wide enough to allow it. I have added parts form the eduard interior set and a few plastic bits.

I made masks with the Silhouette for the instrument panels...

And sprayed some Tamiya ocean grey - a good match for the "admiralty grey" of the real one (considering the scale effect).

Wing fences - specific to the Mk60 series. Those are paper prototypes cut with the Silhouette. Each is unique as the wing profile is slightly different..

Most of the work was required for the mid and aft section of the fuselage. All 3 small sircular windows we re-made - the original inserts are terrible. Duct were added for every openings, some panel lines filled,  etc.
Rivets were added individually using a beading tool. I know that the originals are raised on the aft section but I find the Archers out of scale. Mine are discrete enough to make illusion.
Flaps were also cut out. Brake parachute box reshaped.
And all suraces were sanded smooth as the platic is grainy...

Fit of the nav lights was bad. I filled the gap with streatched sprue and re-scribed.

    Overall fit is quite good.

CMK flaps are pretty bad- being copies of the original parts they don't fit when dropped. I had to cut and shorten the 3 pieces holding the thing.

    Hi Guys,

Here is my Airfix Typhoon ready for D-Day! Overall a very nice kit that fits very well all closed except for the cowling area, where some efforts is required. From the box except Barracuda air intake ring, Master RP-3s, RB Productions harness and Eduard wheels.
Painted with Gunze and Tamiya, Silouhette masks for all markings.
Model completed a couple of months ago but photography caused me some troubles.

    NB: Photos are 1500px wide.

    Hi All,

Here is what kept me busy the last two months. The Monogram kit is rough to say the least (except the tire flanks, oddly) and requires quite a lot of work to make it look descent.
FYI from the box you cannot built the first machine(6062 aka Glamorous Glennis) unless you bring some substantial modifications to the the elevator hinges.
    Modifications include:
Cockpit detailing (addition of seatbelts, instrument panel wires, etc)
    All trailing edges massively thinned.
    All probes scratchbuilt
    Air scoops scratchbuilt
Engraved and partially riveted. Do not count on the raised panel lines to serve as guide, most of them are wrongly located
    Rocket engine rebuilt
Decals from MH models (thin and good quality but stencils lack a bit of finesse)
Masks for Stars & Bars and black rectangles home made using my Silhouette.
Door does not fit at all so seem was filled with streched sprue and engraved.
Paint is a mix of Gunze H14 and H24, applied separately to incoporate some tonal variation (barely noticeable on the picture).
