Popular Post curiouslysophie
Here is my rendition of the ‘bent-wing bird’. I used the Eduard cockpit (never again) & propeller, HGW belts & stencils, Barracuda Wheels, and a load of scratchbuilding! I did some super-detailing on the engine, cowl flaps, canopy fittings, and wheel bays. It is a fictional scheme from a Guadalcanal based unit, flown by the fictional Lt M. W. Hendrik. I hope you enjoy my build, I had great fun with the weathering on this one. I have come to love dirty aircraft and learned a good deal of new techniques for this plane (still not so great at them!). On to the pictures! Edited October 30, 2021 by curiouslysophie Fixed pictures LSP_Kevin, MikeC, Greg W and 50 others 52

Sturmbock
This is one of the finest Corsair-builds i've seen so far! Very well done! The weathering is spot on! Not to much, just right! Did you had problems with the Eduard set? The cockpit looks good in my opinion. Cheers! Lutz

The Eduard cockpit is superbly detailed but it just didn’t fit properly, and didn’t go into the fuselage well at all. I sort of bodged a solution to hide the gaps. If I was to do another one I would use the kit cockpit and super-detail it with things like the ANYZ switches and some scratchbuilding. A lot of the detail Eduard provide vanishes in the bottom once you seal it up.

Daywalker
That Corsair is GORGEOUS, exactly how I wish mine turned out. You really nailed the grubby, stained look.
daveculp
It doesn't get any better than that. Looks real to me.

steinerman
Sophie, that is incredible. The detail you put into the engine and the overall "dirtying up" of the aircraft speaks of a lot of talent, time, and effort. The overall result is stunning! You should be commended for a job well done!
O.W
Great finish. Weathering is also the most fun part for me, it really brings the model to life. The Birdcage is in my stash halfway build as well. What was it with the eduard cockpit? for me the rudder pedals were a challengeange Edited October 31, 2021 by O.W Kagemusha
