Mc200 ... done deal ...

I purchased several sets 200/202/205 series gears by Mauricio de Terlizzi while I was working in Rome a few years back.  He makes some awesome upgrades for the Macchi's.  I was begging our friend Damian S.O.W to make some sets off the Mauricio sets.  He could retire after releasing a Macchi set of gears.  LOL.

Awesome efforts as usual Mike.

Thanks again men ,  I can actually see a finish ahead  :coolio:

...p.s. I also wanted to mention for those who have one of these but haven't built it yet,

the leading edge of the kit's wings are fairly rounded. When I was looking at examples

from the Russian front, those white markings on the leading edge show up the fact that

the leading edge was rather sharp, so some material removal is needed there.

  • MikeMaben changed the title to Mc200 ... moving ahead

Engine and cowling are glued on  :)

Landing gear assembly has been a distinct PITA  :angry2:

The struts and wheel/tires are much nicer than the kit parts but are too long

and you are left to your own devices to get them attached to the bay. I cut

4 quarter inch squares from .020" sheet styrene and laminated 2 pair, then

drilled a hole thru them to accept and stabilze the struts. To get the right length

they are attached to the bottom of the inside of the top of the wing. The forks

are seperate resin parts that were not easy to cut from their stubs. I snapped one

in half anyway so I used the kit forks instead (pretty much identical). Assembling

the doors to the struts don't fit if you use the PE brackets that come with the kit

and install them per instructions so I'm scratching a new set. So some progress.

Next I need to draw up some masks for the canopy. Thanks for peekin' in
