If that’s the case it makes sense. Their own effort predates the Stone Age and is uglier than a sows ear.

Also these repops come out cheaper, yeah? ... looks like with a bit of advertising AIMS might have to amp up production!

Very interesting; it's a wonderful kit. Of interest to me is the re-release of the 1:72 S-100 torpedo boat. Mine is long gone and I'd really like to eventually get another. The Type VIIC/41 Platinum edition is very appealing too.

A bit of divergence I will admit... I really like torpedo boats and a re-release of the S-100 and with one of the crazy wonderful PE sets would save me (and my wife) from the much larger 1/200 Arizona kit.

I wonder is the Platinum edition of the 48th B-1 might have Corrected engines?.. I built the original release of it a LONG time ago .. might be nice to try again!

The Revell S-100 was a pretty darned nice kit too and much more manageable (both size and price wise) than the 1:35 kit.

Would love to get this kit. Could it be used to convert it to a G4 aircraft?

Yes, with the AIMS conversion.  Need new nose, props, engines, rear canopy, and radar, at least.  Significant amount of work to do it yourself, so best to just get the conversion.
