Tnarg Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 That one with Peruvian Tigers would look nice too. I always wondered about this kit and how it goes together. Thanks for letting us watch. Tnarg

Breaker Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I really want to do one of these, it'll be very impressive when it's finished. I've just finished a Su-25, if you want any of the Russian weps I didn't use, let me know.

blackbetty Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 we will see how it goes, the pit is very basic and will need complete scratching. thanx breaker, i sent you a PM
dutik Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Good luck and have fun! When in need for drawings or else just drop me a note. Regards - dutik

blackbetty Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) thanx all, we will see if my abilities can pull this one off i started with cutting out the vac canopy. there are two supplied, one with faint frame structure, one completely void of a structure. with this the location of the pit cutout can be located. measure five times, cut once!!! the front fuselage is a tube, so you have to insert first the nosecone, then the pit and then the front wheel well (or maybe first the well). front geardoors are molded closed, so these have to be cut out (doors are supplied seperately - very nice). its not easy to place the pit- as work saving it is to have no seam to clean up on the front fuselage halves, shoehorning the scratched pit in from the back will be a challenge Edited December 9, 2016 by blackbetty Uilleann, Sharkmouth and ShotMagnet 3
blackbetty Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) upon further investigation the pit walls can be attached to the wheelwell and the assembly fits like a glove into the fuselage. as mentioned the pit is very basic (as you see), the walls are tapered, in reality they are vertical. this has to be modified, but i think the resin part can be used as a base Edited November 25, 2016 by blackbetty Uilleann, ShotMagnet and Sharkmouth 3
blackbetty Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 i will use some kind of spacer to the nose cone, this is all fixed together with double sided tape for dryfitting the dimensions are correct with the spacer: i will see if the bulkhead drawings of the 4+ book will help me constructing the intake.... alaninaustria Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Wow! Looking forward to seeing more!!
Lee White Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Let me ask you, how long is that spacer you have between the nose well and the intake bullet? I never though to do that, but it's brilliant. blackbetty 1
