Gekko type 1 Irving and Breguet 693 series. One or more ugly French prewar bombers,

Check this out :frantic:

For me in 1/32:

- Lioré & Olivier LeO 45 (so there was a good looking French bombers ;))

- CRDA Cant Z.1007 (one of the few three-engined planes that were not completly ugly)

- Fiat BR.20

Alex, thanks for the link. I lost it.  I must see if he is ready to sell a copy yet.

DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, DO IT---------

(YES YOU CAN------------)

Frank Mitchell

Exactly. I bought this book (link below) and, after reading it 20 times thought, "I can do this". One of the best investments I have ever made for my model building "career".

Victor, Vulcan, Shackleton, Vickers Vernon (perhaps if WnW do a Vimy?), Supermarine Southampton - and probably *lots* of others if I put my mind to it - but time is limited and I have enough going on already!

Books - I have the 'Scratch Built' book linked above - signed by Peter Cooke - who used to make the excellent tea at Thames Valley Scale Model Club - and was an influence in my interest in the BiG stuff. The book is an excellent resource of materials, methods and inspiration.

And thanks to a *really* kind person of this parish - I have a copy of the Harry Woodman book too!  :)

Lee, that book is one of my most treasured possessions!

That and Tony Woollets Scale aircraft models in Plastic Card.

Keep those suggestions coming!!

This book has, I recall, been made available on the net as a free to download PDF. And I don't mean some dodgy Russian site.. this is bona fide as I believe the book is no longer published.

I'll see if I can find the link..

OK, update. The book was made available as a series of web pages (not a PDF). These got hacked and the site was taken down for repair. As far as I know it hasn't been put back up. However I just found a link to an archive of the original site and here's the link.

It is a great little book and is inspirationally straightforward and down to earth in the way it shows you various techniques.

Mig-25 1:1 scale. Then take a ride 20 kilometres high...

Do you know that you can see there the curvature of the Earth with the naked eye?

OK, it helps to have a cockpit or a pressurized suit around you ;)

Regards

- dutik, who sadly missed the opportunity to make that ride

Addition to my earlier post - not sure how I could miss this because it should be top of the list:

Blackburn_Baffin_RAF_1934-p013894-B-Baff

The Blackburn B-5 Baffin...

Special because my grandfather flew them in the mid-30s with 812 Sqn - off HMS Glorious in the Mediterranean - and shore based at Hal Far, Malta.

If I could find decent plans I'd start tomorrow!

1/32 FW 190 V1. Pretty much my dream model.

Are you aware of this kit?

There is one currently on ebay.com that ends in 14hrs, so I imagine they must turn up. Price is about $55.

Yes, but that's not the V1.
