Good evening all,

Would any of you know if Brian Fawcett is still in the business? I had purchased some resin correction parts for the Trumpeter Ju87 from him a few years ago.

I was thinking of ordering another set from him, just in case I mess up the set I already have, but I can’t find his website any longer.

Thanks for any information,

Kurt

Brian has had health issues which has curtailed the amount of resin work that he does, but if you send him a polite email he may be able to help you. I bought his Hurricane correction parts (nose, dog kennel) last summer.  His website is no longer live but I’ll try to find his email address for you.
OK, it’s BRIANLFAWCETT@aol.com. He took a long time to reply to me so be patient!

Thank you so much! I am saddened to hear he has been having health issues.

The Stuka set is really nice for the Trumpy kit.

hmmm, it’s very much ‘of its time’ in terms of sharpness of casting and detail

but, outside of 3DP your own stuff, it’s still the only correction set ever released for this kit, and the kit certainly needs it

note there is still no accurate (or even close to accurate) bomb cradle for these B models, so there is a reasonable argument to be made that if you care enough to use the FMP corrections, you probably care enough not to build the at all given the cradle is just nonsense 🙁

(I reviewed the FMP set back in the day, and still have it in my stash)

maybe @airscale can have a go once he is rolling in it after the success of the Defiant?! 😃

I did notice the cradle is not correct. Has anyone tried scratch building a correct version or are there any drawings available?

the Ju87 is a very well documented airframe so if you want to go down that route I don’t think lack of reference will be an obstacle

If you are a good scratch builder and can make uniform structures cleanly then I think it will be very doable…but most people are not

whilst I consider myself a pretty reasonable modeller these days, scratchbuilding (and soldering) are the dragons that I have yet to slay.

both take an investment in tools and time that I am not prepared to make, given my overall take now is life is too short to build sh*t kits or spend time faffing about.

best of luck…

Alas there are a lot of books about the Ju 87 but technically it is not very well documented. Unfortunately the evolution of the types of propeller, exhaust, seat, cockpit armor and other features is still quite blurry...

I am working with one of those crappy Trumpy stukas.  I wish I could make stuff look factory.  But I persevere, regardless.   Trying to make the interior canopy framing is tough.

Well Gazza's. Hmmmm.  I should just pitch my Brian Fawcett Stuka conversions set and Trumpy kit as mentioned above because it's not of 3D printed material as of 2024/2025 mentioned above.  What was I thinking.  Off to the trader board now.  ;)
