  1. Not sure why the part count varies that much...I don't remember the figure being 45 pieces.
  2. The first release had a figure included. Other than that, Volks said the only difference was the markings.
  3. Off the top of my head, the canopy parts aren't shaped correctly and the radiator cover is misshapen. The fuselage is a couple mm too long. Fit is good.
  4. The problem there is I would need to order the material, so eyeballing doesn't work.
  5. So what are the dimensions for US lights?
  6. No, not that kind of light. I mean replicas of the map lights that are in most WWII cockpits. I don't need them to work, just to add to a build. I can probably scratch one, but I wanted to see if there was a better detailed option.
  7. Does anyone make cockpit lights for US WWII cockpits? Thanks
  8. Makes me think of Brick in Anchorman saying "I love Lamp"
  9. Or maybe scale up their F4F Wildcat?
  10. When the eets TBDs were repainted from aluminum laquer to light gray/blue gray, woukd there have been a primer voat of yellow zc or another color? Thinking ahead to the chipping on the exterior of the trumpeter kit I am working on
  11. Thanks! Everytime i think im ready to paint, i find something to correct or scratch.
  12. I have Dana Bell's walkaround. I was looking at the pics of the pilots side consols and its hsrd to tell but to.me, it looks like trumpeter did them wrong. Trumpers kits have solid plastic on the sides of the right and left consol but pics seem to indicate that the side consols do not have verticle walls either side of the seat. I attached a pic. The red area is what I think needs to be removed but want some options before i cut
  13. Maybe not. When I test fitted them.on my build, i was using the kit detail for the roof of the wheel well. If the Aires PE fits the resin part like a lid, it may work although the well might be a mm or 2 shallower than if you used the kit parts. Im going to dig it out later and look
  14. Circumference wise, they fit nice. When I tried to fit them to my E-7 there was a gap between the underside of the top of the wing and the top of the Aires part. I'll have to look again- maybe I missed something.
  15. My understanding is aluminum laquer later painted over with a version of green zinc Chromate. Here was the earlier discussion
  16. Found a pic finally! tbd.11728.aimer.pad.jpg (1006×803) (hobbyvista.com)
  17. Would there be a cushion for the bombadier to.lay on when using the Norden bomb sight? Anyone have a pic of what it would look like and what color it would be? Thanks
  18. I.had mine primered with Tamiya primer and thr next time i picked it up, it flaked off in large chunks
  19. I thought about using Apoxie sculpt or milliput to fill the gap, myself. The only issue on the real canvas, there is a zipper half way between the top and bottom. Adding height to the one side would make the zipper appear to be uncentered.
  20. they should be fine. I bought 4 of the Hobby2000 kits and mine were all good. The only question is did Dragon ever address the original issue with the DS formula or are these going to dry out eventually too? I was working on a the E-7 kit but stopped at the wings because I started worrying that they would eventually crumble and there would be know what to fix once the wing parts were joined. I did just email Aires and suggest it for their Quickboost line, but even if they do listen, it is probably going to be a while.
  21. Forgot to reply- the Aires resin fits the bottom of the wing nice. Unfortunately it isn't tall enough to reach the upper wing, resulting in a gap
  22. I had the other thread because my Cyberhobby boxing had the same issue. Like it was said, the Eduard ones fit pretty good but they are very under-detailed. Using their PE would help, but that makes it pricey. I have one of the Hobby 2000 versions and the DS plastic was ok, but it's really not that detailed either. PE looks better detailed, but it's a pain to get to look natural. On a lark, I bought a set of the Aires wheelbays for the Hasegawa kit to see if they would fit. circumference wise, they fit great. They just aren't tall enough and leave a gap where the top of the resin is supposed to touch the upper wing. Older thread Cyberhobby bf109 DS parts - Page 2 - LSP Discussion - Large Scale Planes
  23. Nice. Ive been watching Ebay for the Pacific Coast one at a reasonable price but never found one.
  24. Or maybe they painted them the same color as the underside? Something else to try to find. I ordered Dana Bell's book and it is supposed to be delivered today, I'll let you know if it has anything.
