Or Squadron. It’s actually the same company.

I don't think Brandon or Russ own Freetime any longer.

I did the artwork for those Teknics sets way back in 92 shortly after I left active duty. Worked for Mike Williams when his shop was in Chino, California until early 94 when I went back to active duty!
This was when decal and photo etch art was drawn on mylar sheets with rapidograph pens!

Seems to be a LAU-68 pod and I see that Flying Leathernecks do one, albeit empty. Possibly a longer version though?
What I currently have released in the LAU-68F/A, which is longer and used with APKWS. I'll have the shorter LAU-68D/A out sometime in May, possibly June after we move. Versions with separate rockets will be out about the same time.

Bump! Whats the status on this project Dave?
Everything slowed down when I had to put my house up for sale. We're moving on the 7th of April to a new home and I'll be back up around June (basement needs to be completely finished). Won't be able to get back to anything until then. The 18th scale pylons are done, but have had several printing issues due to their size.

I've seen multiple posts from folks here about how they will never go on Facebook or other social media platforms. I typically have no use for FB and don't use any other social media, but over the last few years, I've discovered that FB is an absolute treasure trove of information and pictures of pretty much any subject you are focused on. Most of this stuff never makes it to the internet.
I got a small chuckle out of these comments. LSP is literally social media and Facebook is on the Internet.....
I do agree with everything else though. Facebook has been indispensable for me as a decal and resin manufacturer, especially when it comes to research. As I no longer have access to the flightline and aircraft since retiring, being a member of almost all of the squadron pages keeps me connected and dozens of Marines go out of their way to help with references when needed. I also belong to a few Ordnance groups and many sailors and Marines help with current Ordnance stuff.
Business wise, Facebook is largely responsible for the growth of Flying Leathernecks Decals. To be honest, I hesitate to post any new product info here, on ARC or HS simply because I get little to zero feedback. I'll post a new product announcement on FB and within a few hours, it's been seen by hundreds of modelers, shared to several modeling pages and I get responses that at least let me know the product was worth creating. I'll post the same info here or the other two sites and it usually shows me that it was nothing more than a waste of time to do so.

After a few test prints and adjustments to the CAD, I was able to get successful prints of the vertical tail stiffening plates found on the F/A-18A/A+. In 1/32 scale, the plates are .49mm (.0190") thick and in 1/48 scale, they are .32mm (.0125") thick.
Visible are all of the rivet/screw fasteners. In addition to these, F-16 Fuselage Plates and the Belly Strap for the F-4E/G/J(UK) will be released in late April or early May after we complete our move to Temple, GA.
Product numbers and prices will be assigned and set at that time.

The V-22 is way off in almost every area and the 18th scale stuff just look like toys.
-
Does anyone have really good drawings or photos of the belly straps of the F-4E/G/S? I based my 1/48 vinyl sets on drawings provided by Zoukei-Mura and want see if adjustments are needed for a planned 1/32 set.
Any and all help is appreciated

Kit issues aside, if anyone can provide references and/or a list of what needs to be included in a conversion for a B-26K, I'm game. Main wheels are already done and I've got a pretty good team of designers helping produce new resin items. For those of you familiar with my Flying Leathernecks line, you know I don't charge stupid prices for my stuff either. If I can get the references and get the conversion out, it will be for the lowest possible price I can make it.

While we are still negotiating with the designer, here are a couple items that may be coming to FLD in the not too distant future. A lot of work still needs to be done to get them print compatible (some thickening/simplification of parts, etc), but hopefully these can be done within the next few months.
More info to follow!

Well, now that it's been mentioned I can speak! I've been working with Gustav Jung on this for a while now, with what little information I can provide. Grateful to a few Marines that assisted behind the scenes with a few photos and information as well.
Yes, I've already scaled up my 1/48 Yankee sheet for it!

It's a beautiful build, but I'm a bit confused on your choice of missile. The AGM-45 Shrike was retired long before the EA-18G entered service. Why the 45 instead of the operationally used AGM-88 HARM?

I appreciate that. Happy to pre-order two sets straight away as well based on the quality of the US spec ones!
Richard knocked out the outboard pylon rather quickly. For stations 1A and 7A, we just need to know the dimensions (length mostly) and he says those would be relatively easy to do. I'll be getting the links up for pre-orders shortly and should be able to ship before the end of the month.

Hi Dave, respectfully I disagree, certainly on the outboard units. Happy for me to email you my references?
I stand corrected. I'll get with Richard and see about doing corrected outboard pylons for an RAF set.

Dave, these are beautiful! Are these the same as Brit GR5/7/9 etc?? I am having a hankering to build a brit one to go with my Phantom but I heard the kit has loads of issues etc (havent looked into it), but seeing stuff like this is making me think twice about tackling one...
Cheers Anthony
Yes, same pylons and ejector units.

Hi Dave-
would you consider det cord?
P
Tried it, didn't work. The raised, molded on det cord in the kit canopy ruins it. I have a vacuform machine and once it's set up in the new work shop being built, I may take a look at a whole new windscreen and canopy.

Dave,
When do you expect the LAU-33 with the rockets/HE warheads will be ready?
How do these mount to the pylon on the F-4?
I see that it looks like they have 3 hangars similar to an AIM-9 ....do they mount to the AIM-9 launcher rail?
Thanks,
Scott
Hope to have the 33 with rockets ready by the end of the month (if not sooner). Yes, they mount to either the LAU-7 or AERO-3 launchers.

These two sheets are going to Microscale this week. A second, and smaller insert for FL32008 is being finalized and will be sent to Cartograf to print. This insert will include markings for the landing gear, ejection seat, missile launchers and data placards for the fuel tanks.
Airframe data markings are based on personal photos and measurements, as well as drawings and information contained in A1-F-18AC-SRM-500, Aircraft Corrosion Control Manual for the F/A-18 Hornet.
