109 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Hi, after finishing my Hansa-Brandenburg diorama I asked myself what do build next? What could be more reasonable than a 1/12th scale replica of a Langnase?! Mr. Bentley´s plans are highly recommended! They contain all fuselage frames. Frames of the center fuselage sections: It take shape – slowly! AndersN, KiwiZac, Joel_W and 8 others 11
LSP_Kevin Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Well, talk about an ambitious project! I'll be following this one avidly. Looks like you've got a plan, so to speak. Kev mpk, 109, Derek B and 2 others 5

109 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 Hi, I did some mor work on the framework of the center fuselage and the fuel tank chamber = Behälterraum in front of the mid fuselage. The top of the chamber is part of the cockpit floor. Jack up pipe runs thru frame 13: Uncarina, Derek B, Starfighter and 7 others 10

Mal_Belford Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) I got a project later on... involved a huge aircraft....4 engine one....1:32. That is building a frame with glass sides and leds....bsckground is blueprints...and plane on top...then hang the thick artpiece on a wall...just like a painting...and since it got a glass framing...no dust...or say plexi instead...and it will be wievable from all angles... Maybe that could be something for this project.... Just an input... Edited October 13, 2016 by Mal_Belford 109 and tomv87 2
109 Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 Hi, some progress on my Langnase: Frame 1 (engine mouting frame) cut from 2 mm plywood. I added balsa blocks from 8 mm board between the MDF frames: Jack up pipe from 5x4 mm alu: Mal_Belford, tomv87, Greg W and 5 others 8
109 Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) Tension vs. shape To reduce tensions in the balsa and to enable a curved shell I cut slots into the backside of the balsa stripe. I added super glue and bent it to fit the curvature of frame 8: I sprayed some activator onto the super glue. The balsa hold its new shape nicely: Balsa shell glued into the framework: Edited October 15, 2016 by 109 Starfighter, airscale, TaffyMan and 10 others 13

109 Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 amazing - I am loving this interested in the techniques you use and will be following your build Peter Hi Peter I'm a fan of your work and hope to learn from you! Do you know SPITFIRE IN MY WORKSHOP?
Starfighter Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I am very honest when I say there are very few things I find more boring than a FW190 (maybe a 109 or Mustang ), except when it's scratchbuilt and in 1/12th scale - and so well done! Can't wait to see more of this! 109 1
dodgem37 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Nice clean fun. Could you tell me what the green and yellow templates are and who makes them. I groove on those scissors, too. Who makes them? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark BGB, sandokan, Shaka HI and 3 others 6
