Been lurking this WIP for a long long time, and yes do follow it due dont want to miss anything. Im very impressed over the engineering in this project, and it looks absolutely fantastic and hard to find words to describe it indeed i have.

I am currently building the Mikromir Ohka trainee version. What i can ad, the kit looks great but got alot of issues in fitting when bulkhead walls are installed, and many other things, so those who are in for this kit be prepared to treat is as short run and used to it, then you will be fine , or if new to this, make sure to dryfit constantly. and i mean it. I do recommend this kit, even with its flaws and all that, as it is fun to work with, also be prepared to scratch new parts as it got sink marks on parts, specially them half moon ventilation intakes, as all them ive seen on the internet and here on LSP specially the one behind the canopy got a big sinkmark. also scribe new panel lines is needed, du some aint complete, only half way. Thanks, and yes had my suspicion. Every one ive seen online got that sinkmark sadly. But what to expect, its a shortrun for sure so have to accept flaws lol. Nevertheless its a cool subject to have in the glass cabinet later when finnished.

Thanks, luckily not many parts in this kit. Corrected them most crucial imo. them big fit issues is solved, now can focus on adding scratched parts, more PE, later paint, wich also is decided.

Another picture, noticed several days ago and recall i mentioned it, them ventilation holes, that there are two more, and nothing on the kit. And yes, will open up a hole aswell. note them vent opening, two directions.

Allright fellow modellers. Remember that sink mark and that ventilation intake....deformed indeed hey. This will come in handy with CA glue, yes yes...that sink hole is blown to oblivion LoL. Yes, smooth and fine, and hey dont worry that tiny gaps will be history aswell. And some dryfitting, hey way better. The manual lacks alot of steps, and parts for a tailwheel, its there but yaih some parts..oh well, common sense here and take it slowly, and dryfit constantly, yes the hole is done, found alot of real good photos of this area among many others, yaih my picture portfolio sure grown alot theese days, yes i do put alot of time in searching. here is one that clearly shows the tailwheel...yes yes, very nice indeed and they will help alot. Note that primer color hey..

Hey, all of them vent holes are finnished and stored in box for later assembly, one behind the canopy, two on the sides, there are two more on the fuselage belly, couple of them Vents, total 5 of them. So now can focus on other things, little more superdetailing and PE parts on the sidewalls in the cockpit, som electrical wiring (few cables only). And some research on the interior colors, soon there.

I had no other choice here. As the kit part were unusable due big sinkmark in the middle, shown earlier, if yours is good then time saver for you indeed. All them kits ive seen on the internet and reviews got that sinkmark on that part sadly. Mine that i posted earlier in this project. As can be seen big sinkmark, way too much work to salvage that part and get s good result imo, so decided to do them all and replace the modelkits so all get the same shape and look. The picture from hobby store. Yes same defect sadly....sinkmark. And this picture from one that did a fast review on Britmodeller. Yes that sinkmark is there too. Reason why not been noticed from other builders, is the lack of finnished ones beleive, and i havent found any single finnished Ohka 1:32 Mikromir yet.

Now the interior colors on Ohka. yaih, seen alot of differences, restored and un restored, and seem to vary alot, and yes bleached alot aswell Sure need to read more about this matter. For the moment leaning to Tamiyas XF71. Oh well ill see later.

Yes ill do. but dont have on the process itself, but ill explain. Tools i used, including my thumb. Material, in this case brass sheet 0.7mm. And create the template with desired shape of the vent, make it slightly smaller than the kit part, due the brass sheet, or else it will little to big, found out that fast on the first one i did. Next, cut a small piece of brass sheet, hold it with a tweezer (sacrifial one for dirty jobs), time to annealing it, use the lighter, matter of seconds and its glow heat. Let it cool, takes seconds. now take that brass sheet, place it over the template, use the thumb to press it firmly, voila, first shape is done, now take that sharpened wood stick, burnish it gentle, press down the edges/corners so they get sharper, and when done, a sharp scissor, cut it around, after that smoothen them edges and shape it with sanding sponge. thats about it. Reinforce the part, as it is now soft, used sondering tin cutted a real small piece soldering tin, place that small tin pellet inside the vent, tiny drop of flux, torch it with the lighter, all flows out nicely, then put in a bath with isopropylalcohol, stiff brush and remove the residue flux, and thats it. This method worked for me. used almost the same method when i did the embossed text on them fueldrums i scratched on my Arado build. Can be found here.

Im not a WW1 builder at all and more in for WW2 warbirds But what i can say, yaih this is really good modelling going on here, looks stunning imo, very impressive indeed. and i like it very much.

Thanks Kev, appreciate it very much. As this kit is a whole dryfit, dryfit dryfit, realized it very early on this one 😁 But hey, it getting to be another obsession 😆... One good thing, it aint that many parts on this kit LoL.

Little done this evening, doesnt look much but took time. Since ive annealing the brass, wich means its little softer, so those ventilation openings needs to be reinforced a little, simple, solder some soldering tin in them, yep. also two more, after reference photos there are two more ones at the fuselage belly. And cleaned up, need to remove that flux. And now some fiddling, LoL, Those pedal wires....dang this is the smallest i can do for the moment in scratch with that kind of detailing em wires for them pedals. Aaaand now dryfit, yes works for me and will do just fine for me hey.

And theese came today, yes seatbelt upgrade, love to work with theese. More upgrades later, that will be scratched.

Jihaaa, got some benchtime, and as when got some time for my own, well it goes to modelling the, what i love to do. Now three vent intakes done, and on a parade, haha no they wont be in line, one behind the canopy and one on each side in the lower fuselage and they are close enough for me hey. Next stop tackle other issues on this kit, but later. so stay tuned.

LoL, it might happen, but later, got a Hasegawa F4J Hasegawa, and with alot of AM things, seats, PE, corrected parts, real goodie bags extra, sent to me from another modeller (real talented) and he wants to see what i can do with it, said yaikes...yes do something outside my comfort zone. hey feeling the preassure as dont know at all much about the Phantom except the aircraft, so do follow this with interest. and learn something about the aircraft...
