Amazing - how you were able to repaint all the ribs replicating the wood material in such a short time is mind boggling

Keep 'em comin

Hi All

Thank's for comments, fine you like her.

Last update this year. I hope next year will be the last of this project.

Two small subassemblies.

Arrested hook first.

Tomasz,

So many great things about this build!  It's interesting to see all of the parts that go into the tailwheel.

Happy New Year!!

Every update is just better and better.  Slap some fabric on the exposed areas, and it'd probably fly if you fueled it up

I've been wondering how you are doing on this project.  That tail wheel does look terrific.

If it were a 1/12 scale model, the tail wheel would be terrific already ... But this is 1/32, and I know how small this actually is :mental:

Absolutely gobsmacking modelling, Tomasz :goodjob:

Yes that is really coming along, you are doing an amazing job really... however.. I think you knew there was going to be a however didn't you?

I apologize ahead of time for the following...

If the construction is similar to the Stearman, designed around the same time by the same company, then the aileron and the horizontal and vertical tail surfaces should be of metal construction.

Not sure if you have seen the images on this site:  Boeing Image Archive I think maybe you have... some of the images show the horizontal stab and rudder without the covering.. zooming into these images clearly shows metal construction for the F4B series of fighters.  The aileron images aren't as clear, but I think are pretty definitive as well.

Now I am prepared to eat crow if I am incorrect, but I don't think so.

Tomasz - as usual that is staggeringly good..

..the fit, finish and sheer ambition of a project like this is just incredible - where will you display it once it is finished, surely a museum somewhere? It deserves an audience

..quite sublime..
