Popular Post Vynce804
Dear All, The HK models B17G is a fantastic kit, great detail and even though much of it can't easily bee seen I know it is there! I think i underestimated the size of this thing!...its BIG! too big to fit even separate wings and fuselage in my spray booth and when you think you can paint it with only 1 pot of paint...think again! The first image is the inspiration for my model some of the OD B17 were particularly filthy with the oil that streamed back from the engines being spread to other parts of the airframe on the boots of ground crew. weathering was all post shade and oils not much aftermarket only gun barrels, wheels and decals, and the name came from the Tamiya F4E. So after 6 months working on this monster what next.....maybe the Airfix Typhoon or should i wait for the HK models Lancaster! CANicoll
Beautiful and well executed! As much as I'd love to build a 1/32 B-17G, esp since a friend of mine actually flew them in WWII out of Rattlesden, the sheer size makes that impractical. Great job on the weathering and your pictures show the subject perfectly. The OD G's were great looking aircraft, even if the engines did apparently leak oil like a sieve. Wow they are a mess! Did you do a WIP thread? Great job!! Chris
