Subodai Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 I would imagine the 'easy' way would be to drill all the rivet holes just enough that if you were to 'submerge' the part in the box of solder balls, then pull it out, they would self-find the holes.. then.. just.. wipe on some glue and hey presto, rivet holes filled... right? scvrobeson Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Or you could go completely crazy and drill out every rivet hole, and insert MasterClub plastic rivets into them. I've also seen car guys do that, that is a level of detail-freak I think I'll avoid for now. Matt Pete Fleischmann 1
Starfighter Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 I think I personally will go for a combination of both techniques - Archer rivets for the large surfaces and soldering balls for complicated patterns on small panels. Pete Fleischmann, Mr Matt Foley, scvrobeson and 1 other 4
Pete Fleischmann Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) Hey all- after jigging-up the blades 3 separate times, I finally got them to a pitch/thrust angle that is believable- not over done..I looked at a lot of photos- a little more twist would be good, but if I can’t get there from here, I’m good with this- not a great photo, but you get the idea- Because each blade is slightly different, and is matched to a specific spot on the rotor head, they are numbered and kept in a rack so I don’t confuse them- cheers Pete Edited March 15, 2021 by Pete Fleischmann johncrow, dodgem37, GMK and 15 others 18
Pete Fleischmann Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 Here’s a better look- cheers Pete Buster99, Uncarina, KiwiZac and 19 others 22

Oldbaldguy Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Mind is thoroughly blown. Are you going to paint the brass or leave it -uh- brass? Pete Fleischmann 1

brahman104 Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Yep, gotta say you've nailed the rotor look. It's nice to see one without the "saggy banana" look! Brilliant work Pete! Craig Harold and Pete Fleischmann 1 1
Derek B Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 This just gets better and better Pete. Derek Pete Fleischmann 1
