Bill_S Posted December 1, 2016 Author Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) IP nearly complete. Most dials are Airscale; there are a few Waldron pieces thrown in for good measure. I decided to clean out the oil cooler exhaust vent. A lot more work than it looks! Edited April 17, 2018 by Bill_S Derek B, BradG, mozart and 7 others 10
mozart Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 But worth the effort Bill! It's attention to small details that make all the difference: opening up vents, thinning edges etc etc. Max Bill_S, KiwiZac and mpk 3
Shaka HI Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Looks great, Bill, but touch up of those bleeds...please.
mgbooyv8 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Hi Bill, up till now, i was lurking your thread. Great work on this venerable kit! Cheers, Peter Bill_S 1
Derek B Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Great work Bill - that cockpit instrument panel is definitely a vasy improvement upon the kit supplied part. Derek Bill_S 1
Bill_S Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Looks great, Bill, but touch up of those bleeds...please. Shaka - one nice thing about the camera (I think) - it shows things these tired old eyes don't necessarily see. I've got some tiny files, and it's done... Shaka HI 1
Bill_S Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) Short update: Fuselage interior is primed; a couple of light coats of RAF interior green are on. Still more to go. Rudder pedals: Trimmed to set height: Trimmed again to set depth; held in place (as is the IP) with white glue. Lots of instrument boxes, throttle quadrants, compass, etc. Tedious work this weekend! Shaka HI Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I don't understand this logic...but you guys get your jollies however you can. Bill_S 1
Dpgsbody55 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I'm very impressed with this. I think Bill is pushing some boundaries in taking a kit devoid of detail and adding much more to it. Isn't this surely what the modeler's art is about?? As to whether it is visible once built, all Bill has to do is open the top hatch on the cockpit and the Observer's hatch and you'll see all this hard work. That would be my approach. Keep up the good work, Bill. Cheers, Mike mpk, MikeC and Bill_S 3
