Okay, here's the thing. I've been wanting to do a scratch built aircraft for quite some time and I've been looking for a not too big and not too complex aircraft. This Group Build is my inspiration to give it a go. Not sure that I will make it, but with some help, maybe I will.

The aircraft I have in mind is the Cessna A-37 Dragonfly.

Small aircraft, lot's of cockpit to scratch - which is what I like best. In 1/32 it isn't very big (length is 26,9 cm, wing span is 34,15 cm and height is only 8,44 cm) - so basically it's about the size of a Bf 109.

I hope I'll make it, cross fingers!

And good luck to everyone here in the Group Build!

GO,GO,GO!

:clap2:

The further you go ahead, the larger is the chance to see one injection molded kit next year at Nurenberg toy fair :D

Murphys Law about scratch building, you know. Applied to our benefit

Great choice Nic !

Funny, this is also what I was thinking about if I had decided to participate with a scratchbuilt project. One comment : you are going to be hard-tasked to find a flat panel on this airframe. Not the simplest of choices if it is your first sratch-build.

Looking forward for more !

Nice one Nic - I have wanted to master one of these in 1/32 for years :speak_cool: (I was considering scratch building one of these for this GB before I decided upon the 0-1 Bird Dog).

Woow, thanks for all the enthusiastic reactions! So, I guess I better get started with it!

I'm not sure how it will work out, but the motivation is there, so here is the first step:

I made a profile and some of the 90° sections of it. Started cutting plastic card after that! It isn't much, but it got the clcok running !

Good luck recognising an A-37 in this ... I hope it'll get better in time.

Nice subject and a good approach! How are you going to fill the space between the cross sections? I presonally use a mix of PU foam for areas curved in 3 dimensions and plastic card for more or less straight areas. Or are you going to skin the fuselage with plastic stripes? Looking forward to seeing more progress!
