Mud?
Perhaps, I really have no idea.

Fortunately for me, the wings are a near perfect fit, so I'll actually be able to paint fuselage and wings separate, as hoped. Minor touch-ups, once wings and fuselage are joined, should be a breeze, I hope.

My newfound perspective dictates that I grab all the AM I can for upcoming projects. Using some cash from 1:48 kit sales, I've purchased these items, as I intend to resume work on this (and finish it), this September. I'll buy exhausts and decals when and as the cash allows, but definitely before September. The Hawk box art shows the mass balances, but the Revell kit doesn't include them, that was the reason for that purchase.

Thanks for all the input, fellas. I really wish I could recall why or when I ever got them in the first place.

Plane now gets her horizontal tails, (which actually took me quite a while to find, all too typical for me), while work continues on the gun bay doors I completely messed up. Leave it to me to screw up a Tamiya kit. I seem to have a special talent for botching even the best of kits. I also chopped off a large portion of the nose gear, as it was getting pretty mangled during the prep work.

Is the F-16 a General Dynamics Fighting Falcon or a Lockheed Martin Viper...?
For myself, it comes down to who did the majority of the original design and production. While Boeing can (and does) slap their name on everything, the F/A-18 Hornet is and will always be a McDonnell Douglas product to me.

Hard to say, but the Iron Eagle movies are pretty gruesome to watch, as aircraft seem to get magically armed in mid-flight, and/or finish the mission with more weapons than they started out with.

Due to yet another error on my part (nose gear/weight installed incorrectly), I had some issues getting the cannon bay doors to fit properly, but nothing some Vallejo putty didn’t make short work of it. Front cowl will still need Tamiya white, but will work out just fine.

Indeed! To me he was terrible when he was trying to draw human beings but his plane were simply ... alive!
I have much the same issue. I can draw pretty much anything in AutoCAD, but if I try to sketch a person, it ends up looking like a stick figure drawn by a four year old.

I can just point out this one:
valiant-wings.co.uk - Airframe & Miniature No.23: The Junkers Ju 88 Part 1: V1 to A-17 plus B-series
Part 2 should be out soon (May-June).
I'm no expert on the topic though.

I reviewed the Razorback version here on LSP, but for some unknown reason, the page won't load for me.

Not to mention the completely wonderful Don Greer cover. He was such a great artist, one of the best, in my humble opinion.

My favorite three (at the moment) for the Ju 188, are Bernard & Graef Verlag volume & the, AJ Press Ju 188/388 books, Part one and Part two
For the Ju 88, particularly night fighters, the choices are many, but I'm not aware of a volume specifically dedicated to them.

Now that my Mustang fuselage is all glued up and drying, I decided to switch gears over to wrapping up the Me 262 ‘pit. The Eduard LOOK IP is really spiffy, and goes a long way toward enhancing this area, not that it can really be seen in this photo.

Horizontal tails now anchored in place. I’m so close to the primer stage now.
