Jack got a reaction from Martinnfb in 1/32 Polish F-16D Block 52+ (from Academy Sufa)
Maybe i missed something (most probably because of my age...daah) but i didn't get to catch the actual finish of this project since Matt was planning on using the Sufa kit as a basis for a polish F16 D block "something""
Now i'm not an F16 expert, but got onto this build after googling the question: can i convert the Sufa into a polish dual Viper, and voila it took me back to my favourite modeling site and it felt right at home.
But the big question still stands: can i change the Sufa into a polish jet, and what would it take, especially since the "humpback" with all the Sufa protusions aren't exactly the same as what is displayed on the polish version, which looks very smooth and cleaner in detail than the sufa.
Hopefully some F16 expert can jump in, maybe Matt?
Jack.

Jack got a reaction from F`s are my favs in i will be singing off...............
i've gone over this decission for quite some time now, surely being influenced with feelings that go back to my own "roots" during the time of events, but i've decided to cancel my LSP membership for the time being, feeling that reality isn't going the way i could accept some issues, and more over, in real life i've encountered some real discreprancies i can no longer accept in accordance with modelling..............you might all be aware of my contempt to the russian system, and that won't change, so i think in accordance to this fact i have real issues to promote russian type of aircraft, ipso facto ....................well you do the math

Don’t overlook the old Revell kit. Not too bad of a finished product with a little work.

Jack reacted to Marcleon in News from Scaleworx
Just to say that John is determined to finish this project... it is so much more work than you think for a model like this.. John and his young family have also moved continents... twice... in the last few years... and the exodus from SA is something to see and unavoidable... about 18 months ago he produced these masters at our Club meeting... he was going through a torrid time getting the surface detail just right, this explains the multicoloured surfaces... but John wants it really good... pictures or it never happened...
And just for fun we have another very talented modeller here, Marc Barris, - yes, a 1/32 scratchbuilder who has produced a Mirage F1AZ (Mudmover) as used in Angola... his technique is vac-form over wooden masters and slowly built up with lots of plastic, but here the double-knuckle undercarriage legs are built up in aluminium tubing...
Sorry, the photos aren't the greatest quality, taken at night on the dining room table...
Regards,
Marc

Jack reacted to Dandiego in How Many Models Have You Built?
Well for me, and this is just a guess. 200 plus.
There were the childhood years and then nothing for quite a while. There was a trigger that got me modeling again, it was Star Wars. I went out and bought an X wing after seeing the movie.
First modified kit was an Otaki F-16. It had the smaller nose of the first prototypes. I inserted a balsa plug to extend the nose. I've been modifying kits ever since.

Jack reacted to CRAZY IVAN5 in S-3 Viking in 1/32 announced by Trumpeter in 2024-2025
I had a coworker that was a 20 year navy vet and he told me everytime a whale landed on the deck the whole damn ship shook and made some rather loud noises. I think besides the C-130 flying on and off the ship [ though a one time deal], the A-3 was the the largest aircraft to routinely operate on carriers. We got one at the Castle air museum and it's a big boy!

Jack reacted to Lee White in S-3 Viking in 1/32 announced by Trumpeter in 2024-2025
I don’t think the Whale is ugly, but looking at a plane the size of a regional airliner and knowing that it operated off of carriers redlines the WTF meter.

Personally I don't think the "Whale" is ugly at all! I would love to see someone do this in big scale and it would be big! Folding wings and vert. fin would be a must.

Jack reacted to Tony T in S-3 Viking in 1/32 announced by Trumpeter in 2024-2025
The Whale is a bit on the large side, but the Chinese fascination with carrier aircraft might give us more 1:32 USN Naval kits, in time, and as the Viking will be big we stand a chance with the Prowler — sadly probably not the RA-5C which received mixed reviews in its smaller scale offerings of yesteryear.
Of course, a FAA Buccaneer S.2C and Spey Toom F-4K would be top of the league here — though I wouldn't say no to a scaled-up Sea Vixen.
