Thomas Lund
Awesome work Kent, but I thought you said to me at Aros that you were intimidated by the kit ? Doesn't look like it kkarlsen
dodgem37
Very special work, Kent. Love the personal touch. Tell me about the top bunk strap. Are the PE and strap kit parts? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Very special work, Kent. Love the personal touch. Tell me about the top bunk strap. Are the PE and strap kit parts? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark Thanks Mark, yes the straps are kit parts, I still need to figure out how many I want to add to the bunks, the kit has 16 straps... kkarlsen
Awesome work Kent, but I thought you said to me at Aros that you were intimidated by the kit ? Doesn't look like it Thanks Thomas, your absolutely right, since this is my first resin kit, I was intimidated by the sheer number of interior stringers, profiles and spars that had to be placed one at a time... and with super glue. It was a massive undertaking, all I can say is: I'm happy I don't have to do more of that! Now it's almost ordinary modelling, except for spending a lot of time figuring out what and 'where' the next parts are... kkarlsen
Love those little detail touches Kent! Very nice! Not sure if you mentioned it but do you plan to add figures, too? I've thought about it, but I don't think so. So, I've decided to work my way from the rear step by step to end up doing the cockpit ;-) This is the rear compartment. Here some Float Lights for the flare chutes were added... Squizzy 78
This is an amazing build. The skill and detail involved is awesome, and I'm really enjoying this as my grandfather flew the Catalina during WW2 . I'm looking forward to seeing more. kkarlsen
In case anyone is wondering what I'm doing? Still 'trapped' in the interior, but slowly the bulkheads are getting there, with some additional detailing... holzemjo
That is jawdroppingly awesome! With every update it becomes more and more clear that the cutaways were the right way to go! It would be such a shame to have all that pristine work hidden away! Edited October 30, 2017 by holzemjo kkarlsen
