Airfix 1:24 Stuka

Hi all,

A re-release of the 1:24 Stuka is nearly here. This was one of the goodies I had my eye on as a kid but could not afford. I hope that the moulds have stood the test of time and that the same plastic is used as per the superb Spitfire.

I will almost certainly build the North African variant but am looking for stencils that will allow me to spray the snake emblem along the side of the fuselage. Any ideas ?

One of there best 1/24 kits.

This re-release will have new decals. But the molds are  the old ones.

Like the Me 109 and Spitfire Mk1 they did as "vintage kits"

At 97 Pounds or 112 Euro's still pricy.

The old boxes can be found for around 50 to 60 Euro's !

So paying some 50 Euro's more just for the decals ?

I would go with the overall sand option.

Those code-letter markings can be easely found.

I had a look at  online shops in Belgium and found one .

And I bought it !

50 Euro's + 6,50 Euro's postage.

Not a bad deal.

Many years ago, the big hobby store we enjoyed in my home town in upstate NY had the Airfix 1/24 Stuka hanging from the ceiling in desert color scheme, along with most of the other Airfix 1/24 kits.

The Stuka was probably my favorite of the lot!  It looks so cool, and my God, it is HUGE.

I'm gonna have to get one of these.

Now that is sexy Peter! The detail on the Mg15 & the seat is superb. How long did these take you to knock up?

The 3d design bug has bitten me of late and I am having a play on the 1/24 Airfix Bf-109E, really enjoying the 3D side as much as the physical modelling itself. Steep learning curve but once you work out the basics it's not too hard to expand out on that.

As far as I know it was only seen on photographed on one plane, and the $64 question is whether it appeared on both sides of the aircraft as only the port side was ever photographed as far as we know. The Montex set gives you masks for both sides and let you decide.
