WAY TO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS

Recommended Posts

So it's been awhile with lots a life stuff going on but I have been wanting to start this for awhile. After collecting drawings, plans, old hand books, pictures and on and on I start my 1/18 scale Jumo 004, a few of the smaller components i could not find enough information on or the right picture angles so i had to make my best guess. Some of the larger plumbing is 3D printed but that was pushing it. Thanks to a new 3D software "PLASTICITY" I was able to get this far in just about a month. I am basically down to plumbing, linkage and small details. Wish i could say that this is 100% on but it's not, It's the best i can so with what i have. If i ever get a chance to see one in person I would document it from end to end.

I was thinking about building a Yak 15 around this but we will see.

Small update, everything received it's primer today and the last of what i believe to be the last of the 3D printed parts, everything will be scratch from here. Did add some wiring today also but i realized i would not have enough so i had to order 3 more packages, it's ignition wire in yellow from Hobbylinc and comes in 24" strands, I cut it into 4- 6" strand to leave me enough to play with but i will need more, The black wire retainers are 1.3mm rod drilled out with a 1mm bit (by the grace of God it worked) and the wire slipped through, the rest of the plumbing will be made with plastic rod, I have sizes from .3mm up to 1.5mm so bending and forming won't be an issue. Nothing is secured at this point as I will try to paint as many components as I can individually.

Gonna need a healthy dose of Prozac after this:BANGHEAD2:. A lot of the larger plumbing is done and still have a few more to do before i move on to all the smaller wiring. This something i should have definitely planned better than i did but where's the fun if it all fits perfect :P Made a little stand for it, kinda helps when planning things out, should have another update next weekend.
