hurribomber
To complete the inner side of the front spar, the air reservoir should be installed, which is attached with clamps. The tank is turned from solid aluminium rod. Rockie Yarwood, Landrotten Highlander, Starfighter and 4 others
hurribomber
The bracket for the air reservoir is screwed on tightly with M 0.8 screws. Starfighter, LSP_Kevin, Rockie Yarwood and 8 others
hurribomber
The holding clamps are a bit fiddly to make... rafju, daHeld, IainM and 10 others
hurribomber
Assembly is only possible with tweezers, and good nerves... especially adding the M 0,6mm screws...+ nuts... hurribomber
the clamps are not yet tightened, as the tank will only be definitely installed later on. that's it for now. Until next time. airscale
just incredible! seeing this build up from scratch and especially in metal is spellbinding do you have drawings for all these parts? I toyed with doing a Hurricane but wasn't sure how may drawings there are - I know Aircorps Library has it listed so you use them? Jim Barry
@airscale, I think the drawings are sourced from: https://warbirdsrestoration.com/shop/hurricane/hurricane-all/hurricane-drawings/ Also a visit to Hawker restorations (somewhere in the UK) seems to be part of the journey here. https://hawkerrestorations.co.uk/the-company/ Edited February 6, 2023 by Jim Barry Landrotten Highlander, MikeMaben and KiwiZac 1
hurribomber
Thank you guys for the kind words @ Peter: I bought drawings about 10 years ago from Ian Hudson of copyzone for £200.- ...But unfortunately it does not exist anymore As Jim mentioned warbirdsrestoration could be an alternative source. Many parts I have rebuilt from photos, because I do not have all the drawings. During my visit to Hawker Restorations I was able to photograph many details that helped me with my project.
