Brilliant work so far. Don't know how I missed this one so far. I do enjoy the mismatched nature of so many late-war German aircraft.

thanks  Jeff!

while i wasn't satisfied with wing joint to the fuselage i repainted again the wooden section and i'll try to make the weathering more subtle,

i will skip the hairspray this time , maybe some sponge chipping..

The wood on the wing roots looks really good... oils, decals or wood grain masks?

I'm glad you're finding the riveting to be meditation.  It can be a bit of anger management therapy for me, at times!

i totally agree with you John, it really helps!

i made the wood using oils (burnt umber, burnt siena and naples yellow deep) highly thinned with petroleum essence and sprayed with airbrush,

using the wood grain stencil from RB productions. i found this way very convincing replicating wood because oils have that sheen that it is almost impossible to achieve this result with. acrylics. i use this technique on ww1 aircrafts

the base color is gunze Radome H318

Thank you

S.

for the spinner, this time, i chose the barracuda one.

i have also the eagle editions , AMUR reaver and MDC

but since used the first two that s why i decided to go with barracuda.

MDC is not an option as it is significantly under-scaled and distorted in an oval shape

(and i have bought three of them..) anyway..

so here it is , first the white

masked and sprayed black..

mask removed and a light wash for black , a dark for white

dry fitting

front cowling is not painted yet, just testing the two tone grey combination..

thanks!
