Thanks guys!  Phil, that's exactly what I'm doing, and fortunately most of any of the defects any cylinders have, are on the sides and not the fronts. Lucky for me, it ends up being pretty tight in there, so not as much as I thought of the engines if visible.

Well, Im shooting to get the rudder on today, and then see if I can build up some of the engines.  Ive engaged Harold again, as I dont seem to have enough of the black baffles that set on top of each cylinder either. Seems HpH only gives you enough for 1 engine. Or at least thats all I got in my kit.

With the long turn around time and customer service from HpH I figured it would be likely faster to see if Harold could cast me up some. If not, Ill engage HpH again and see if they can send me some.

Don't get too hung up on the oily bits.

Pick the best of the bunch from what you have for the front faces.

If anybody is stupid enough to start shining a torch in there then they are going to get a slap anyway.

:D

Looks great to me so onward and upward !

:goodjob:

Exactly! Lol

l am interested to see how those nacelles go on and particularly now the wheel wells go together and the placement of the parts

Me too! That is the last major cutting and sanding project as all the internal ribs require removal from the standard HpH resin pool.

The wells for the MLG will be tricky as the landing gear angle is dependant on the nacelles.

I'm thinking at this point I'm going to deviate from the instructions and install the MLG after the nacelles get attached to the airframe so I can more closely dictate the angle of the gear.

Ok so a few more updates..........

I finally got the airframe fully assembled, minus the flying surfaces. Shes is one BIG girl! I used a combination of JB Weld and some CA to hold the vertical fin in position while it dried in the position I wanted it.

Its about as straight as I can get it:

The joint looks a bit messy here, but its actually quite decent. I used some thick CA to fill the forward spine gap which is the small clear slice near the leading edge of the horizontal stab:

I also put a coat of Mr Surfacer 1500 on the wing joints to smooth them over:

Next up after getting the main airframe completed minus the nacelles and flying surfaces, I decided to take her for her first weigh in.

Thanks gents!

Next up was doing some of the basic engine assembly while some of the missing parts get cast.

Basic crank case and cylinder assembly, as well as getting the ignition rings glued to the reduction housings:

I got the props fully assembled and took a look at what they might look like on the non nearly finished engines. This is all just setting together:

I also set down the cowls on each engine to see how much will actually be seen of each engine after assembly...................the answer is not a whole lot actually. Im having second thoughts about going to all the work to fit in the intake runners when you (literally) will not be able to see a single mm of them:

All for now lads!
