David Mooney Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) I picked this up a fair way back at Telford IPMS show and thought it would be an interesting subject to cover. The thing that got me was the shape of the wings on this aircraft, I really liked the overall shape and look to this. Its a very nice kit and goes together well, but has some rather unique ways of constuction. Overall a very good kit and the decals went down very well as well. Its been built out of the box and the only extras was the seat belts I made from Tamiya tape. Finished in Humbrol paints and with kits decals, I think it turned out not to shabby in the end so I hope you like it. LSP_Kevin Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 That looks fantastic, David! Love the dirty silver finish, and the outside shots on the base look really convincing. May I publish it on the website? Kev
Uncarina Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) David, Very nice work! You've given me a new appreciation for the lines of this aircraft, and how did you train the bird to appear in your photo? 😊 Cheers, Tom Edited April 29, 2016 by Uncarina
Jack Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Excellent!! Looking great, wish i could finish NMF that way, kudos!!!
r0t0rdr1ver Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Very nicely done indeed David! Take a bow sir!
Chek Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Looks very good, and the metal finish suits the subject. I've always found the semi-agricultural, beaten-up-by-ground-crew look of early MiGs appealing, and your model captures the look.
Troy Molitor Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Great Looking MIG David. The finish is most appealing to the eye and looks to be a typical weathered operational beast ready for the next flight. Well done mate. regards, Troy
amurray Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 The MiG-19 is a unique aircraft, no doubt about it. The shape is unduplicated. You did a great job on this kit! Great twilight photos - very real! I would love to hear what the vagaries of construction were to which you alluded.
joe Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 That's a great job on the Mig. Nice and dirty finish on the NMF. It looks great.
fastzx Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Wow great looking mig19 All the outside photography look absolutely real What camera and lens did you use? Again very realistic Jin
mywifehatesmodels Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 KICK BUTT! Great build, paint and photography! John
